Art Application Lesson 2

Creativity Imagination and Expression

Today we will going to tall about the role of creativity, imagination and expression in the world of
art.

ka ng isang art, vidual man yan, perfroming man yan, sculpture o iba pa.

Sabi sa libro, perhaps not everyone can ne an artist. Which I myself eh hindi naniniwala. By the
way ganyan po magbasa, when you read, you analyze and think and argue with the statements
in the book. In this case ang oamantayan nung author para masabing ikaw ay artist is you can
produce beautiful pieces of artwork through your creativity imagination and expression.

But here's why I disagree with it. Because beauty is subjective, ibig sabihin pag subjective,
kanya kanyang pamantayan, sa madaling salita kanya kanyang trip; if your neighbor does not
perceive your art work as something beautiful maaaring beautiful yan para sa crush mo.

Despite of how beautiful your art is, o magkaiba iba man tato ng pananaw sa kung ano ang
maganda. One thing is certain, we are all spectators or viewer of art.

ART APPRECIATION AS A WAY OF LIFE

Jean Paul Sartre - Famous french philosopher, said that art is a creative work that describes the
environment or the world around you in a completelt different way, and it is due to human
freedom.

Each artists has their own unique perception of the things around them, kaya kung makikita niyi
One example are the art works of Salvador Dali for example and his famous painting
na Dreams caused by the flight of the bumble bee.

This is how Salvador Dali percieved nightmares, each of the things drawn in this painting eh nay
meaning at symbolism, pero in reality ganyan ba talaga ang itsura ng nightmares, not
mecessarily, right? But it would take a like mind to appreciate the art of Dali, kung di mo siya
gets and the way he interprets his surroundin, hindi mo rin siya maappreciate.

When you appreciate art, you develop liking into things that are beautiful.
Appreciation of art cultivates
appreciation of brauty in us, ang effect nun is that we often choose what's beautiful sa paningin
natin, samahan mo pa ng pagiging practical sa buhay then you can make choices sa mga binbili
o ginagawa mo sa buhay na beautiful, thus make you say na yung pinili mo ay sulit para hirap at
perang iginastos mo. Isang halimbawa pa ng art appreciation as a way of our life, kapag
namimili tayo ng damit, hindi natin kinukuha yung nasa unahan, kasi we perceive it aa lukot, di
magandang tignan, but rather titingin tayo ng same design pero hindi lukot or hindi pa na i fit.

THE ROLE OF CREATIVITY IN ART MAKING

Sabi sa libro "In art, crrativity is what sets apart one artwork from another. We say something is
done creatively when we have not yet seen anything like it or when it is out of the ordinary"

Bawat artist may kanya kanyang creativity na ipinapamalas sa sarili nilang art, thus producing
different art styles, kaya meron tayong surrealism, realism, abstract etc. These are byproducts
of artist's creativity whenever they try to depict the surroundings.

is yung slogan na "it's more fun in the Philippines" a nauna na palang ginamit ng Switzerland
back in 1951 na may katagang "It's more fun in Switzerland", ang sabi nmn ng DOT is that it is
purely coincidental.

*Now as part of your recitation, i will be asking you "are filipinos creative, yes or no? Why?"

ART AS A PRODUCT OF IMAGINATION, IMAGINATION AS A PRODUCT OF ART

All art works start with your imagination, wether film man yan, may it be visual arts, music,
potery etc. They all start with imaginations. Works of J.K. Rowling such as Harry Potter started
from imagination, Narnia and Lord of the rings too, kahit ang mga famous paintings started eith
their own creative but playful imaginations.

Sabi ni Alber Einstein even our knowledge or kaalaman comes from imagination. May slant of
ancient philosophy tong approach ni Einstein, wherein concepts are valuable than the actual
thing. Sabi ni Einstein
"Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know
and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know
and understand."

Now ang gusto niyang sabihin is that you knowledge only roots out from your imaginations,
inagination precedes knowledge, sa knowledge you can only perceieve or understand what is
there but imagination can go farther than that.
imagination mo they exist.

It is through imagination that we are able to produce something or craft things, but you can only
create what's in your imagination as long as it is bound to reality, so even imagination itself has
limits.

Our artworks in itself are cinstrained by our imagination, yung inilalagay mo sa art mo is what
your imagination contains. It does not necessitate na kailangan totoo yung nasa art work mo.
Pero you can only go so far to the limits of your imagination, even yung pag create ng
artworkthe tools you want to use are only limited.
That's
something out of imagination but you can't turn it into reality.

Your art inspires others to imagine and create art.
then inspires us to make poems or paintings that came straight right our of our imagination and
this imagination was induced by the music we were listening to.

ART AS EXPRESSION

Often times ang outlet natin of what we feel is through art. Kulang ang salita at pag iyak o ano
pa mang means to express how deep out emotions are, pag inlove ka napapagawa ka ng tula,

Robin George Collingwood, and english philosopher who is best known for his work on
philosophy of aesthetics, sabi niya sa book niya na The Principles of Art (1938), that what an
artist does to his emotion is to express it. At wala nang ibang means syemore, kundi through
art.

niya, hindi glorified twitter kind of depression.
niya, he was able to create the saddest songs in the OPM industry.

1. Visual arts - "Creations that fall under this category are those that appeal to the sense pf
sight and are mainly visual in nature"

Gaya ng painting, drawing, lettering, printing, sculpture, digital art etc.

2. Film - "refers to the art of putting tigether successions of still images in order to create an
illusion of movement. Film making focuses on aesthetucs, cultural and social value and is
considered as both an art and an industry."

3. Performance arts - "a live art and the artist's medium is mainly the human body which he or
she uses to perform, but also employs other kinds of arts such as visual art props or sound."

Take Yoko Ono for example. Isa siyang performance artist.

Performance arts has 4 elements

A. Time
B. Where the performance took place
C. The performer's or performer's body
D. Relationship between audience and performer

4. Poetry performance - poetry is an art for where the artist expresses his emotions not by
using paint, charcoal, or camera, but expresses them through words.... such are used to exhibit
joy anger, love, sorrow and so on."

5. Architecture - a building architecture can only be considered a beautiful art when they
embody plan, construction and design. However not all bulding embodies all three of them.

6. Dance - "isa series of movement that follows the rythm of music accompaniment. It is a
creative form that allows people to freely express themselves."

7. Literary art - "artists who practice literary arts use words not paint, musical instruments or
chisels to express themselves and communicate emotions to the readers... it may inclide fiction
and non fiction auch as novels biographies and poems."

8. Theater - "uses live performance to present accounts or imaginary events before a love
audience. Theater att performance usually follows a script though they should not be confused
with literary arts."

9. Applied arts - "incorporating elements of style and design to everyday items with the aim of
increasing their aesthetical value. Arts such as industrial design, interior design, fashion design
and graphic design are considered applied arts."
