Brief explanation of the I've been assigned to work on projects all over the world. I'll have to collaborate
task assigned with merchants from other nations to locate international projects, as well as
merchants in India to discover domestic projects. I've been tasked with social
media promotion. I've also been tasked with developing new designs.
Brief explanation of In recent weeks, I've been working with the company's export manager as well
how the task was done as merchants from other countries and India to secure large project orders,
with Dubai, Latin America, and Europe as the primary target markets. I've been
promoting the business on social media in order to expand the market, and I've
also been taking orders for export for sizes other than those we make under
the Verona brand name in order to expand the business in a variety of sizes.
I've also been working with the designer on fresh design development to meet
the needs of the purchasers and the changing market preference.
Difficulties in meeting Communication is a challenge for me because we do all of our communication
the current goals online, which makes it difficult to talk. Another issue I had was with price
negotiation due to Covid-19, and I also had issues with container booking and
shipment.

each and every of these steps during the internship by the means of teaching, observation
and by actually doing the work. Apart from the Export Department, I was also given a brief
knowledge about the marketing department and stock maintainance of the company. The
main purpose of this was to give overall knowledge of the organisation. In this we have
worked on the marketing of the product and know how to introduce our product in the

INTRODUCTION TO THE COMPANY

INDUSTRY OVERVIEW

Ceramic industry is named for ceramical material which is solid, non-metallic, fire clay particles.
Ceramic tiles are items made using tiles. Hygienic equipment and refractories, to name some.
It's an industry very varied.

15 | P a g e
In construction and in the decorative look at our premises ceramic products are significant. In
addition, the hygiene, ease of use and ease of cleaning of ceramic items are primarily favored.
Everywhere around us in any house , office, shopping malls or any other buildings, products like
vaulting, tiles, sanitary facilities are required.

tiles have an incredibly rich past. Pottery jars consist mainly of tiles used for the storage of food
and water from about 9,000 BC to 10,000 BC. Bricks have already been made in history at that
time. Since then the ceramic sector has continued to develop and has been modernizing
technologically and innovatively in new products in different sizes, consistency and appearance.

domestic and international market.

COMPANY’S VALUES

Innovation, quality products and excellent customer service. We strive to uphold quality at
every stage to forge enduring relationships with our principle customers, suppliers,
distributors and partners.

PORTER’S FIVE FORCES ANALYSIS OF VERONA Tiles

RIVALRY –

In the tiles industry there is immense competition, with almost 1000 units engaged in the
manufacture of tiles. It shows that the economy is highly competitive. Including local
competitors such as Sunhearrt ceramic and Lavish tiles, which can be considered as rivals. In

18 | P a g e
order to survive, the company has to concentrate on its quality by reducing its prices,
because in case of perfect competition , the company cannot charge the price.

THE NEGOTIATING POWER OF SUPPLIERS –

In the case of tiles industry, the trading power of suppliers is greater as there are several
suppliers dealing with raw products but only a small number of available resources. Offers
are minimal due to lack of capital, but demand for the raw materials is increasingly growing.
Buying from one supplier of the product. So the company has formed good ties with the
provider to make the business smooth.

THE NEGOTIATING POWER OF BUYERS –

In this situation, consumer capacity of negotiation is much smaller. As we said, there were
almost 1000 units dealing in tiles. As a result, consumers are offered a variety of options.
Customers can switch to another one, such as a company product or they can also switch to
another if the company pays higher prices. The business needs to concentrate on quality
that meets consumer standards in order to be successful.

SUBSTITUTION THREAT –

Substitution threat is far greater. Because numerous substitutions such as porcelain tiles,
marble roofing and tapestry are available on the market. Due to the large number of
replacements available, businesses must care for their customers because they can quickly
switch to replacements, and businesses often do not negotiate with any other suppliers.

NEW ENTRANTS THREAT –

19 | P a g e
In the case of tile industry , new entry threat is small, as the business can easily enter the
market if artificial or human barriers are missing. Whether they are obstacles, it would be
more difficult for new entrants. Also new entries would copy the operations of current
market leader to make profits, so one needs to make continuous change in order to protect
themselves from competition by new entrants.
ORGANIZATIONAL FRAMWORK 7’S

STRATEGY –

verona has established a marketing plan by preserving customer ties. verona products are
marginally more costly than their rivals as they focus on quality goods that differentiate
them from other enterprises. They have a plan to produce goods of high quality and boost
customer loyalty. You have a diverse approach, because you have relations with
manufacturers and carriers to supply premium goods.

STRUCTURE –

Verona follows formal and hierarchical operational structures. The company do have
a process, which their workers will obey when they select a supervisor for linear and
smooth communication in the company. The overall organizational structure is centralized
and helps the decision-making process faster. As a consequence, at the time of the
pandemic, it remained unimpacted.

SYSTEM –

20 | P a g e
In the organization, Verona follows a systematic method. In verona’s each employee will
report on the zoom application daily, where discussions on different issues are held. Task
was also allocated to its employees through the zoom app. Business has a daily customer
support system to address your problems and for further orders contacts.

STAFFING –

As we learned, in the company there were 200 staff and 15 full-time in the workplace.
When we speak about skills needed to interact effectively, we have clear knowledge of the
technologies involved and are eager to gain the right experience and to build up a
consumer network to improve revenue.

SKILLS –

Communication skills are a key competency in this industry, because in this pandemic
time the organization needs to be prepared to produce the products correctly. Each
employee in the company must know the technical know-how given to each employee or
trainees in the start. The training sessions in the organization, along with the recordings, are
held on site. If goods are delivered in good quality and on time, customer loyalty is possible,
which is possible if business is able to communicate properly.

STYLE –

The 7s studies suggest the leadership framework that this organization applies. We
were free to carry out our assignments during my internship because there were no specific
steps that had to be taken. We may assume that the company has a structured system for

21 | P a g e
decision- making when we see it from a neutral level and also certain amount of freedom is
given at certain levels of the organization.

SHARED VALUES –

Each employee is given adequate training in verona which includes teaching employees to
talk to customers. Shared principles contribute to the proper functioning of the
organization.

22 | P a g e
PROMINENT PLAYERS IN INDUSTRY

1. SUNHEARRT CERAMIK
2. LAVISH GRANITO
3. EMCER
4. MALWA CERAMICS
IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON BUSINESS

Almost every industry was touched by Covid-19, and corporations lost billions of dollars.
Covid-19 has had an impact on the economies of all countries, and the administration is
attempting to regain momentum. Employees are losing their jobs, and businesses are
experiencing a slowdown. In the tile sector, these are also applicable. Transportation has
been restricted as a result of the lockdown, which has hampered the business of the tile
sector, which requires tiles to be delivered to every corner of the country. In the state of
complete lockdown, company have faced the problems of labour and raw materials. Aside
from the problems encountered during the lockdown, the firm has not fired any employees
since they believe it is their job to assist the employees, and the company has now resumed
production, which is critical for the employees, consumers, and the company. We have
demand for the product now that production has begun, just as it was before the outbreak.
The company, on the other hand, believes that recession is an unavoidable element of
doing business. They treat success and failure in the same way, and as a result of this
mindset, the company will soon regain its momentum and deliver high-quality products. In
23 | P a g e
addition, the organisation is taking all essential precautions to ensure the safety of its
employees, office workers, and visitors.a thorough sanitization and hygiene procedure Due
to the pandemic, the domestic and European markets were primarily affected, but they are
now returning to normal. The company is based in Morbi, Gujarat, which is India's main
ceramic production hub. Because the world and domestic markets are in recession as a
result of the Covid-19 pandemic, there is no way to launch a new production line or a new
company. The current logistics scenario is extremely beneficial, as practically all logistic
processes have been restarted on a regular basis since the outbreak.

OBJECTIVE OF THE INTERNSHIP

1. Enhancing the social media presence of the company

Merely having a social presence won’t count as having online presence. There is need to the
set goals and work accordingly in order to enhance their presence. There is great need to
improve continuously with the changing needs.

2. To know the impact of social media on the reach of the company and its performance and
growth

Social media increases the reach of the company in a short period of time and doesn’t involve
much of cost which shows that it is cost effective. It has positive effects on the performance and
growth of the company.

3. To know if having an online presence would help the company to connect with the
customers at the faster pace:

24 | P a g e
It is always considered important to build a relationship with your customers. If relationship is
build by using an online platform, it is very cost effective and you can connect to your
customers very easily without any difficulty. You can solve their queries quickly and it will result
into happy and loyal customers.

4. To know the advantages of the web presence.

Digital presence has various advantages. Through digital presence company can expand their
customer base through advertisement. With the help of the advertisement, company can
connect to their customers and can solve their queries rapidly. Digital presence will promote
the brand awareness of the company.

INTERNSHIP ACTIVITIES

I have been working with the production person to get to know about the manufacturing
process as this is the base for any other work such as sales and purchase. After getting familiar
with the manufacturing process in the first week I have been assigned with the sale department
for the understanding tenure. I have to take orders from domestics markets especially Retailers
as we are manufacturing the tiles product which are premium product so the Retail market is
best for this product. After the week, I have started to work on Export and how to increases the
export market as in this lockdown period in India , the domestic market is growing slow so I
have to focused on Export. For this I have collected the data for the customers in the
international market and then I have started contacting them after we have started our
production units by taking government norms in mind. After contacting the customers, they
started giving the order as the lockdown period was getting over in other countries and
according to that we have to book for the containers for the shipment and book the Vessel for
the country to which we have to export the products. The main export market of our product is

25 | P a g e
Thailand, Kuwait, Palestine, Egypt, Bosnia & Herzegovia, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Germany,
Belgium, Poland, Romania, Mexico and USA, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Russia, UAE, Qatar, Guatemala,
Bolivia, Uruguay, Chile, Brazil, Panama, Dominican Rep., South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Syria,
Ukraine, Monte Negro, Kosovo, Serbia, Denmark, Ireland, United Kingdom. Then I have
followed up with the documentation for the Export containers. In the last weeks I have been
working with the export manager of the company and merchants from other countries and
from India to get the big projects orders and the main focus market is Dubai, Latin America,
Europe. I have been doing social media promotion for the expansion of the market and side by
side I am taking orders for Export for the size other than we produces under verona brand
name to expanse the business in many sizes like giving job work to other companies who is
having good quality and provides best rates. I have also working on new design development
with the designer as per the requirement of the buyers and the new market taste. As I have
been also seeing the stocks of the company as to take orders from customers and check the
stock availability for the delivery date and get the booking scheduled for vessel.

LEARNING

The most crucial aspect of every business is time management. I've learned how to manage my
time so that I can finish the chores or work I've assigned.

Communication is another crucial skill to develop, if not the most vital. Communication is the
most crucial component in my internship, and it is through communication that I will be able to
maintain relationships with my customers.

It also allows me to work in my family's business under the supervision of my family members
and gain experience in the ceramics sector, which I plan to pursue after finishing my education.
Other than pottery, I learnt a lot throughout my internship, including how to export.

26 | P a g e
I also lead one on time, which has an impact on the company.

Pre-planned work in the business is the foundation of the business since it reduces the chances
of doing things wrong if we plan ahead of time.

Working in our own firm was a great experience since I learned about the company's
framework, which will benefit me in the future when I start my own business and deal with
other projects.

CONCLUSION

I will first thanks verona Tiles who gave me an opportunity to work with them and help me in
exploring practical world of company. I have learned that marketing and exporting is the main
thing of any business for survival in the business world. I have also learned that convincing the
customers is tough part and to change the mind towards our product is also difficult , but this is
the part of business and I learned how to deal with different peoples. In this internship, I have
learned that coordination between the department is very important and i also know about the
different department such as sales department, marketing department, exporting department,
and production department. This opportunity of working with family business company helps
me in overall development and exploring myself.
