Install Sophos Central Endpoint
NOTE: In contrast to Intercept X, the Sophos Central Endpoint can’t be used alongside another
antivirus program from a third party, such as Symantec, Kaspersky, McAfee, Windows
Defender, and more. It is therefore necessary to uninstall the existing antivirus program before
installing the Sophos Central Endpoint.
Requirements:
Windows 7 sp1.
Sophos Central Account.
Admin rights on the computer.
No other antivirus program installed.
Internet connection.
2. Download Installer:
The complete windows installer includes Endpoint Protection and Intercept X. If you want to install
Endpoint Protection only, or Intercept X only. Click on Choose Components.
3. Execute Installer:
Next, you can start the setup of sophos Endpoint. An internet connection is required.
NOTE: Make sure that no other antivirus is installed on your computer before running the sophos
Endpoint Protection setup.
4. Check installation:
If the installation has been successful, the computer is now protected and is listed in Sophos
Central. To check this, you can click the Endpoint Protection menu point in the sidebar and then
select Computer.
IMPORTANT:
You must never delete computers in Sophos Central before the software has been uninstalled
on your PC. The Software is protected by Tamper Protection. To remove this protection, it is
essential to link to Sophos Central.
INSTALLATION OF SOPHOS ENDPOINT ON WINDOWS 7 MACHINES:
> Close this window and go to start and search for windows update.
> Turn on automatic updates and check for updates,
> Install the updates it may take some hour depending on internet speed.
> Need to restart the windows 7 machines to complete the updates.
> After machine restarts, open sophos icon which is located on right side down.
