PERSONALITY
DISODERS
 are a group of mental illnesses
 involve long-term patterns of thoughts
and behaviors that are unhealthy and
inflexible
 The behaviors cause serious problems
with relationships and work
 People with personality disorders have
trouble dealing with everyday stresses
and problems.

TREATMENT AND MANAGEMENT

1. PHARMACOLOGIC TREATMENT
- Cluster A : low dose of antipsychotics
- Cluster B : lithium, anticonvulsants, mood
stabilizers, benzodiazepines
- Cluster C : low dose neuroleptics
2. INDIVIDUAL & GROUP PSYCHOTHERAPY
3. COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY
TREATMENT AND MANAGEMENT

4. Anxiety reducing techniques


5. Allow client to be independent
6. Inform client that harm to self, others & property
is unacceptable
7. Develop a written contract
