NCC Selection Process 2021-22

INTRODUCTION

The University has a SD/SW unit of N.C.C. (Army Wing and Air Wing) under Community Service Cell,
Division of Student Welfare-LPU. The students of any stream (Other than 1 year course or final Year
Students) have the option to enroll in NCC after clearing the Common Entrance Test and interview
conducted by Community Service Cell, Division of Student Welfare-LPU.

Total Seats in NCC

1. 210 Army Wing Seats (Male/Female) under 8Pb NCC Bn, Phagwara
2. 55 Army Wing Seats (Female) under 2PB NCC (Girls) Bn, Jalandhar
3. 10 Airwing Seats (Male/Female) under 1 Air Squadron, Jalandhar

Selection of the NCC Volunteer (Offline Mode)


The recruitment process for the enrolment of new cadets to Senior Division or Senior Wing will
consists of the following steps:

● Registration Process (Through UMS)


● Written Examination
● Physical Test
● Personal Interview

Qualification
1. NSS Volunteer should not be appointed as NCC Cadet.
2. A student who is under disciplinary probation cannot be a NCC Cadet.
3. Final year Student is not eligible for the post of NCC Cadet.
4. A Student who has high level of, motivation, inclination and aptitude for community work.

REGISTRATION PROCESS:

● Registration process will start in the 1st week of August.


● Students who will be willing to enrol themselves in the 1st year of NCC will register themselves
through the UMS only.

WRITTEN EXAMINATION:

● Written Examination will be conducted around mid-August.


● The examination will take place through OAS only.
● Examination will be of MCQ pattern.
● It will contain 30 questions and the time allotted will be 30 minutes.
● Syllabus for the examination:

⮚ About NCC
⮚ Aptitude and Logical Reasoning

PHYSICAL TEST:
Students who will be the top performers will be called for the physical test. The physical test will be
conducted in the starting of 3rd week of August.
For Senior Division (Male):
● Running- 1600 metres

2. 6- 7 minutes Running Time. 10 marks.
3. 7- 8 minutes Running Time. 5 marks.
4. After 8 minutes Running Time. No marks.

● Push- ups
30 seconds will be allotted to everyone and marks will be awarded on the basis of number of
push-ups.

2. 30-35 push-ups. 12 marks.
3. 25- 30 push-ups. 9 marks.
4. 20- 25 push-ups. 6 marks.
5. Below 20 push-ups. No marks.

● Crunches
30 seconds will be allotted to everyone and marks will be awarded on the basis of number of
crunches.

PERSONAL INTERVIEW:
● The Personal Interview of the students will be done by the Panellist and Principal (Head, DSW)
● Students will be adjudged on the basis of their qualities (Honesty, Reasoning Ability,
Organizing Ability etc.)
The students will be adjudged on the basis of his performance in all the rounds and the final merit list
of the students will be prepared. On the basis of overall merit order, the students will go for a medical
test depending on the number of seats.
After the students will be declared medically fit, they will be allowed to enrol themselves in the LPU-
NCC. The enrolment of the cadets must be completed by the 1st week of September.
DOCUMENTATION:
● The sheets of each student will be maintained properly who will qualify after the written
examination.
● Every performance of the students will be recorded in the sheets as it will be required to make
the final merit list.
● The documents of the students will be maintained properly by the CTO/ANO and Head.
● The Document custodian will be appointed by the Principal (Head, DSW).
● The Document Custodian will ensure a fair selection of new enrolments in the 1st year.
SELECTION PANEL:
The selection panel will consist of the following members:
Enrolling Officers.- For the purposes of enrolment of cadets to the LPU-NCC under section 6, the
following persons shall be enrolling officers :-
(a) Coordinator, Community Service Cell & Head (Division of Student Welfare);
(b) Associate NCC Officer/ Caretaker Officer of the LPU-NCC; and
(c) Permanent instructors of the unit as deputed by unit officer commanding.

Rules for Drill and CATC Camps

 Students enrolled under NCC shall be required to attend minimum 75% parades in a session
as per schedule.
 It is compulsory to attend 75% parades plus 2 camps in order to appear for B & C certificate
examinations, as demanded by NCC Directorate. However, student can attend more than the
said number of camps as per University Policy.

● Physical Efficiency Test (online through Video Submission)

2. Literacy Assessment

In the NCC Literary Assessment (Writing Round) Test (2nd Round) Students have to express
their views on any one topic given in-between 600-1000 words.

Note:
1. The submission is in doc (word file) format only.
2. Mode of Language - English only.
3. The submitted essay should be plagiarism free/no copy from internet/unique writing.

3. NCC Physical Efficiency Test

GENERAL INFORMATION
 PET Test is an eligibility test of LPU for NCC Cadet for final selection in NCC.
 PET Test is to be conducted on Online Mode.
 Students Need to Submit the Max 12 Min Video on 4 Different Activities at the Link provided
to the shortlist cadets.
 No extension will be given to any candidate for any reason.
STRUCTURE OF PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST

The Physical Efficiency Test will include the following:

Results
The result will be prepared on the basis of performance in Physical Efficiency Test/instructions
followed as mentioned. The result will be uploaded on UMS.

Note:
1. Candidates need to clear the PET test as mentioned above to get selected as an NCC cadet.
2. Need to prepare the video of Performing PET Test. Make sure that a clear view of performance
should be capture.
3. For both Male/Female Candidates, the Maximum video limit is 12 Min for all Activities (e.g. 3
min for 1 activity and 12 Min for all Activities)
4. If anyone uploaded Cut or edited video on Link the candidate is directly disqualified.
