A very good morning to headmistress, teachers and all
of my friends. Today, I would like to share a story of ‘The
Greedy Dog’. The Greedy Dog There once was a dog who was very hungry. He looked everywhere for some food. He went to the place where people were selling all kinds of meat. At last, he found just what he was wishing for- a big, juicy, delicious bone! The dog was very happy and he quickly grabbed the big bone. He carried it in his mouth and ran off. Soon, he came to a bridge over a stream, The dog looked down into the water. He saw another dog looking up at him! The another dog also had a bone in his mouth. The dog thought. ‘His bone is bigger than mine!’. The greedy dog jumped into the water to take the other dog’s bone. His bone dropped into the stream. The dog could not find any of the bones. And now, he had nothing to eat! The moral value of the story is we should be happy with the good things you have. Thank you. A very good morning to headmistress, teachers and all of my friends. Today, I would like to share a story of ‘The lion and the mouse’. The Lion and the Mouse One day, a lion was sleeping soundly in the forest. He woke up suddenly when a mouse ran over his face. The angry lion caught the mouse in his powerful paws. As he was about to eat the mouse, she cries out, ‘Oh please, please let me go!’ ‘Why should I let you go?’ said the lion. ‘If you let me go, one day I will do a big favour for you!’ The lion laughed and he let the mouse go free. A few days later, the mouse was out in the forest looking for food. She heard a big sound. She found that the lion was caught in a hunter’s net. The mouse began to bite at the net. Soon, the lion can free himself from the net. ‘Thank you, my dear little friend!’ he cried. The moral value of the story is even smaller or weaker ones can turn out to be helpful. Thank you. The poor ant struggled in the water and thought he would surely die! A dove nearby saw what was happening. He quickly plucked a leaf and let it fall onto the water close to the ant. The ant climbed onto it and reach the river bank safely. The ant said, ‘Thank you, my friend. I will help you one day, too.’ A few days later, a hunter came into the forest and he saw the dove. He took out his bow and aimed an arrow right at the dove. The ant saw it and quickly bit the man’s toe! The man jumped and cried in pain. And the dove quickly flew away. ‘Thank you very much, little ant! ’ the dove said. The moral value of the story is a good deed is rewarded by another good deed. Thank you. The Hare and the Tortoise Once, there was a happy tortoise who was walking throught the forest. Soon a hare came hopping towards him. The hare said, ‘I’m sure no one in the world moves as slowly as you!’. The tortoise was angry and he said, ‘Let’s have a race to see who is faster.’ The hare even fell over from laughing. He said, ‘All right, let’s see who can reach the top of that hill first.’ The hare quickly ran off and the tortoise was left far behind in the dust. After some time, the hare stopped to take rest. He waited for the tortoise to come along. He lay down under a shady tree and soon fast asleep. The tortoise walked slowly and steadily. He passed right by the sleeping hare.
