    Special “Version Up Firmware”


    Background:

    The Version Up Firmware will enable some of the functions available in the later “e”
    series devices to the following “none e” older models:

    Zeus bizhub C224, C284, C364, C454, C554


    Minerva bizhub C654, C754
    Minerva BK bizhub 654, 754

    Use and Precautions

    All of users do not need to update to this firmware!!

    It is recommended to install this firmware ONLY in special circumstances if the


    below mentioned functions are required for the customer.

    Special precautions must be taken during the update to this FW version, Please
    see Precautions / Advice, and Installation Procedure in this document.

    ADDED FUNCTIONS:
    • Scan to Gmail (Nov 15 Onwards)
    • LK-110 (High Image Processing
    Package)
    • LK-111 (Thin Print)
    • bizhub Connector (Microsoft
    SharePoint,Google Apps, Evernote)
    • Google Cloud Print (GCP)

    Precautions and Advice

    Special care must be taken during the update process – please read carefully the update
    procedure in this document.

    Once installed, DO NOT install normal “Mass Production” firmware to the device. This will
    crash the machine and recovery can be difficult.

    Should you wish to uninstall this firmware and install normal mass production firmware, a
    special “FW downgrade tool” is required. See Downgrade Procedure in this Document.

    Attention: When using this firmware, please make sure to use the Printer driver, Application (e.g.
    PageScope BOX Operator, PageScope Enterprise Suite) and loadable driver for bizhub “e series”
    devices(i.e C224e C284e C364e C454e C554e C654e C754e b654e b754e).

    In the case of C224 C284 C364 C454 C554 – Special Movie data should also be installed.


    Attention: Backup Network Settings, Address Book, and CSRC Settings before updating
    because these settings could be initialized during the update process. For the details of
    "External memory back up", see the service Manual.

    How to install


    1. If the Movie Data has been already installed, delete it in Service Mode.
    2. Install the Firmware Version GB4-A9**
    3. Turn OFF/ON the main switch.
    4. Install the Firmware Version GBF-M0
    5. Turn OFF/ON the main switch.
    6. In the case of bizhub C554/C454/C364/C284/C224 - Install the Special Movie Data for Version
    Up firmware
    7. Install the printer Drivers, Loadable Device Drivers, and Applications for the “e Series”
    Devices

    **During the update to GB4-A9 the trouble code C-E301 may occur:
    How to Recover from CE301- Enter the Service mode –System 2 – Software SW Setting and
    change the DipSW 156 to Hex 08 (Remark: Hex value turns to "00" automatically) and then
    reboot MFP).

    How to Downgrade

    In the Future, should you wish to downgrade the Firmware back to normal “Mass Production
    Firmware then a Special Procedure should be followed using the FW VerDown Tool:

    1. Please select "OFF" on the User Authentication setting if "Main + Enhanced Server" function is
    used. (User Authentication data is cleared.)

    2. If the Movie Data has been already installed, delete it in Service Mode.

    3. If the loadable driver has been already installed, delete it in Service Mode.

    4. Install Extract FW VerDown_Tool (A2X0DWN-F000-G00-00.exe) and copy to a USB stick.

    5. Insert USB memory into the Firmware Update port of MFP


    6. When turning on the MFP, the screen ("Firmware Downgrade Preparation") was displayed.
    Press a [START] button. The message ("Firmware Downgrade Preparation in Progress") is
    displayed.



    7. A few minutes later, when the message ("Firmware Downgrade Preparation completed
    successfully") was displayed, turned off the main Power.



    8. Install the Mass-Production firmware for None “e” Device (i.e C224 C454 C754 b754 etc).

    9. Turn OFF/ON the main switch.

    10. Install Voice Data/Movie Data and loadable driver None “e” Device (i.e C224 C454 C754 b754
    etc).
