MIDTERM PROJECT Of the 8 control techniques, refer to the list below on the two techniques

that you're going to discuss.

Discuss the following;

1. Why is that technique important?

-For me technique is important because it serves as a method or skills on a professional to do

their task effectively and techniques provide managers with the type and amount of

information they need to measure and monitor performance. The information from various

controls must be tailored to a specific management level, department, unit, or operation.

2. Provide examples of how this technique would be applied in the food and beverage

industry.

-My example of techniques that would applied in the food and beverage industry is being in

front desk because it requires a techniques and method of doing an activity, usually a method

that involves in talking the guest and making them feel welcome. Another example is being a

restaurant manager because a manager needs the technique of controlling the flow within the

restaurant like interconnecting with the waiters the chef and other staff to follow up and

manage orders while giving services to the customer that is a kind of techniques a manager

should be applying in their field.

3. How can you apply this specific technique in your personal life or student life? In reference

to this question, please disregard the workplace situation (like: do not relate to employees,

but your own situation)

-How could I apply the techniques in my personal life or in my student life by having a self-rule

to myself that if would not get or achieve a good score or performance in test or quizzes is that

I would cut half of my school allowance and a study hard in order to have a self-discipline in

myself, this kind of a specific techniques is similar to examples of techniques in question

number 2 in a way of having a discipline and control to yourself in order to perform better in

your task or fields.

Control techniques assigned to you will depend on the first letter of your family name.

The control techniques that I am assigned according to the First Letter of Family Name which is

L - Q are the Control Techniques of 5 Observing and correcting employee actions and 6.

Requiring records and reports

Observing and correcting employee action

-observing and correcting employee action is one of the control techniques a manager should

do in a restaurant, hotel, resort, any hospitality sectors because all employees are expected to

meet performance standards and behave appropriately in the workplace. Corrective action is a

process of communicating with the employee to improve unacceptable behavior or

performance after other methods such as coaching and performance appraisal have not been

successful. If the employee has not made an improvement or if the behavior/unsatisfactory

performance persist, corrective action may be appropriate. Corrective action MUST be

executed in order to control the flow in business

Requiring records and reports

-For me Requiring Records and Reports Recording and reports is a type of control techniques

used by managers to keep track of daily records and happenings in a hotel, restaurant, and

many more food and beverage establishment usually they are recons of net worth incomes

daily or ever a year and also the records of Best sellers and not popular product or service so

that the manager could make some adjustments basing on the records so it is an important

element in control as these information helps in decision making, judgment & comparisons of

the operations if timely records and reports are not available, opportunities for taking

corrective action may be lost.
