& present of 19.00 km in total. The width of the existing carriageway of
condition of this Road is 10.00 m. The length of the stretch of the road under
the road:- consideration of this project is 0.00 kmp to 1.00 kmp and
improvement of Bagdanga more and Taltala more. The length
of stretch under this project is 1202.00m in total. The condition
of the above mentioned chainage is very poor and present
carriageway can not bear the heavy vehicular load. The
Existing composition of road section at middle of carriageway
is 40 mm BC, 75 mm DBM, 250 mm WMM. And below
WMM layer there is another layer of moorum and boulder. The
total depth upto WMM layer is 365 mm. It is found that water
is retained in moorum layer and it is required to be removed.
4.
Necessity of The Sainthia-Sultanpur road is very important as it connects ihe
the project:- two well kown districts Birbhum and Murshidabad. It is also
used as connecting road for many major places in birbhum
district like Bolpur, Suri, Md bazar and mollarpur on NH. 60,
Rampurhat, Tarapith etc. It is also mentioned have that several
nos nos. of sand Ghat is located on this road. Due to the
connectivity of this road a large nos of public vehicle and truck
carrying stone material and sand ply over this Road everyday to
reach their destination. Water mixed with sand has outleting
from those trucks entire to this chainage in constant mode
round the year. From experience it is observed that bituminous
surfacing is not suitable to overcome this specific problem. So
Rigid pavement is proposed for this stretch of the road
5.
Proposal :- The chainage from 0.00 kmp to 1.00 kmp of Sainthia -
Sultanpur Road including development of Bagdanga more and
Taltala More is proposed in this work. The total length of this
streach stands at 1.202 km. Rigid pavement as well as flexible
pavement is proposed for the entire chainage. The details
shown in Annexure : A. The length of rigid pavement is
proposed for 772.0 m. In rigid pavement consider M-45 grade
Pavement Quality Concrete, 300 mm thick including dowel bar
and other component shown in Annexure : B. The scope of
work of flexible pavement on the rest portion i.e is only 430.0
m. In this portion resection has been proposed and overall
thichness considered 730 mm. Surface drain is proposed on
both side of the road in stretches for smooth drainout of rain
water.
