Every 500 Service Hours or 3 Months


You must read and understand the warnings and instructions contained in the Safety section of this
manual before performing any operation or maintenance procedures.

Transmission Oil Filter

Change Filter

The transmission oil filter is located at the top left of the transmission.

1. Remove the transmission filter housing drain plug. Allow the oil to drain into a container.

2. Remove bolts and cover from filter housing.

3. Remove and discard the used element.

4. Clean the filter housing and drain plug with a clean, nonflammable solvent.

5. Clean the housing base.

6. Insert a new filter element into the filter housing.

7. Inspect the filter housing seal. Replace the seal, if it is damaged.

8. Install the cover on the filter housing.

9. Install the drain plug in the filter housing.

10. Remove the magnetic strainer cover slowly. Allow the oil to drain.

11. Remove the magnetic strainer assembly.

12. Separate the magnet and tube assembly from screen. Wash screen and tube assembly in clean,
nonflammable solvent. Allow magnet and tube assembly to dry.

NOTICE
Do not drop or rap magnets on hard objects, or damage can result.
Replace damaged magnets.

13. Clean magnets with a cloth or stiff brush. Allow magnets to dry.

14. Install magnets and tube assembly into the screen.

15. Install the screen.

16. Inspect the cover seal, replace if damaged.

17. Install the cover and tighten bolts.

18. Start the engine. Apply the service brake.

19. Slowly operate the transmission controls to circulate the transmission oil.

20. Move the transmission control lever in NEUTRAL Engage the parking brake. Inspect for leaks.

21. Maintain the oil level between the marks in the sight gauge (1). Add the oil through fill tube (2) if
necessary.

22. Stop the engine.

Remove the oil fill cap slowly to relieve the tank pressure before changing the filters.

1. Remove the filter cover.

2. Inspect the cover seal. Replace if necessary.

3. Remove and discard the three filter elements.

4. Remove the screen. Wash screen in clean, nonflammable solvent.

5. Install the screen and three new filter elements.

6. Install the cover.

7. Maintain the hydraulic oil level above the ADD COLD mark in the sight gauge. Add oil if necessary.

8. Inspect the fill cap gasket. Replace the gasket, if damaged. Install the oil fill cap.

Fuel System

Clean and Change Filters

NOTICE
Do not fill fuel filters with fuel before installing them. Contaminated
fuel will cause accelerated wear to fuel system parts.

Wash the Primary Filter Element

1. Open the access cover on the right side of the machine.

2. Loosen the filter housing retaining bolt.

3. Remove the housing and element.

4. Remove the element from the case.

5. Wash the element and housing in clean, nonflammable solvent.

6. Dry the element using pressure air.

7. Clean the filter case base.

8. Inspect the seal. Replace if damaged.

9. Insert the clean element.

10. Install the element and case into housing.

11. Tighten the retaining bolt to a torque of 24 ± 4 N·m (18 ± 3 lb ft).

12. Change the secondary fuel filter. (See next topic)

Change Secondary Fuel Filter

1. Remove and discard the filter.

2. Clean the filter mounting bases. Be sure all of the old seal is removed.

3. Coat the seal of a new filter with clean diesel fuel.

4. Install the new filters by hand. When the seal contacts the base, tighten three-quarter of a turn more.

There are rotation-index marks 90° apart on the filter. Use them as a guide for proper tightening.

5. Prime the fuel system. (See next topic)

Fuel Priming Pump

1. Open the fuel system purge valve (1) on the pump housing.

2. Unlock the priming pump plunger (2) and operate pump.

3. When fuel flows free of air bubbles, close pump and lock the plunger.

4. Close the purge valve.

5. Start the engine and check for leaks.

6. Close the access cover.

Fuel Tank Cap and Fill Screen

Clean

The fuel cap is located on the right side of the machine.

1. Remove and disassemble the cap.

2. Inspect the gasket for damage. Replace the gasket if necessary.

3. Remove the strainer and dipstick from the fill opening.

4. Wash the strainer, cap and cap element in clean, nonflammable solvent.

5. Install the strainer and dipstick.

6. Lightly oil the element and assemble fuel cap.

7. Install the fuel cap.

Brake Camshafts

Lubricate fittings

Wipe all fittings before lubricating.

Lubricate two fittings on the inside of each tractor wheel.

Lubricate two fittings on each scraper wheel.

Total of eight fittings.

Engine Crankcase Breathers

Clean Breathers

Remove the access cover (if equipped) located on the right side and open the access door located on the
top of the engine compartment.

1. Loosen the breather outlet hose clamp and remove the hose from the breather cover.

2. Loosen the breather inlet hose clamp and remove the breather.

3. Check the condition of cover seal. Replace with new seal if the used one is damaged.

4. Wash the element and cover assembly in clean, nonflammable solvent.

5. Shake, or use pressure air, to dry the element.

6. Inspect the hose for damage. Replace if necessary.

7. Install the breather element cover assembly.

8. Install the hose and clamps.

9. Repeat procedure for second crankcase breather.

10. Install the access cover.
