Course Description
This course provides an in-depth training in use of office automation packages, and to
understand the business applications of computers. Also provide knowledge of software
application tools those are essential for a modern office for day to day office
management. and understand how to use software packages in day to day activities.

CIE Criteria:
1. CIE-1 (20 Marks)
◦ Written Examination + Practical Examination
▪ There will be five questions of 10 marks each - Total 50 Marks for theory
Examination.
▪ Questions will be such that can measure the problem solving and analytical
ability of the students.
▪ There will be practical task for students –Total 100 marks for practical
examination.
2. CIE-2 (20 Marks)
◦ Written Examination + Practical Examination
▪ There will be five questions of 10 marks each - Total 50 Marks for theory
Examination.
▪ Questions will be such that can measure the problem solving and analytical
ability of the students.
▪ There will be practical task for students –Total 100 marks for practical
examination.
3. CIE-3 (10 Marks)
◦ Based on the following break-up of marks of attendance of the students:
▪ Attendance range Marks
 55%-64%: 4
 65%-74%: 6
 75%-84%: 8
 85% & above: 10

Course Policy [Including plagiarism, academic honesty, attendance etc.]

 As per the University’s rules, 85% attendance is mandatory, to be able to


qualify to sit in the final exam (SEE). However based on the medical
grounds (backed by necessary documents) 10% relaxation can be given to
the student.

 Every work to be submitted to the instructor will be strictly in the form of


electronic i.e. Word document, Excel sheet, PPTs etc. No form of hand-
written work shall be entertained.

 As a matter of our policy, no amount of plagiarism will be allowed in any


type of students’ work/assignment/presentation submission. Students are
advised to follow the guidelines of RKU with respect to the issue of
plagiarism.

 Students’ Hand-outs (materials available with the instructor) will be shared


at the end of that particular module. However, it has to be used as a
reference point only and book reading is must for thorough knowledge of
that module.
