    • What communication problem did you find between the two parties?

    According to the video called Les Luthiers - Radio Tertulia - Part VI, you can see two

    men who speak Spanish and who star in an Argentine radio program. During the program

    the two men interview a group called "London Inspection" by phone.

    The communication problem is that the radio announcers try to interview a group of

    foreign people without having command of the English language, so during the program

    they draw conclusions according to what they can understand. The main problem is that

    while the interviewees manage to understand the questions in the Spanish language, the

    announcers do not know how to interpret the answers in the English language.

    • Was the information given by the announcers correct? Justify your answer.

    No, because the announcers do not have command of the English language, the flow of

    information is not adequate, so they misinterpreted the answers giving a wrong meaning

    according to what they were able to understand, this being very different from the answer

    of respondents.

    • Number other similar situations that you know of where this problem occurs.

    This situation can occur in labor relations where it is necessary to communicate with

    foreign personnel to carry out a negotiation. Another similar situation can arise during a

    trip to a country where another language is spoken, where it will be necessary to

    understand the foreign language in order to communicate with people.

    • What do you conclude from this situation?

    Learning to master other languages is very important for personal and work life, since at

    any time a situation may arise where it is necessary to communicate with foreign people

    and we must be trained to face this type of event.

    Mastering other languages gives a professional's resume the possibility of having better

    job offers and allows a person to be much more competent internationally.
