Executive Summary

A. Name of the Project

The name of the proposed business is “CPA Coolers tea shop”. The proponents chose this
name to lure attention and to be easily remembered by the customers. Wide researches have
shown that 80% of people around the world loves and easily get attracted with fresh and
healthy cool flavored and named with CPA Coolers. It is just fitting to include “tea shop” to
imply that the business deals with serving tea as well as simple foods.

B. Location of the Project

The research proponents have chosen to rent two (2) blocks in the Upper Commercial
Center of Mindanao State University, Marawi City. The chosen location was based on its
marketability and its accessibility to the target market, the students, employees, and
businessmen.

One of the two blocks will serve as both kitchen and factory where the milk tea will be
produced, the other, as the dining area and counter.

C. Brief description of the Project

The proposed project will be a limited partnership of four (4) distinct and juridical
partners joined and agreed upon the terms and conditions of partnership by-laws. It is
primarily designed to serve high quality but affordable tea to its target customers. It will be a
full-service tea shop which offers variety of milk tea. A cup of milk tea is usually paired with
some desserts or pastries, so the proposed business will also offer and sell some desserts
which will be provided by a known supplier.

The business is open 10 hours a day (from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and seven days a week. An
exception to this would be every Fridays; the said business will be open at 1 in the afternoon
until 6 in the evening.

~2~
The partners have agreed to contribute worth of P500, 000 each which will give the
business a total capital of P2, 000, 000. This will cover the costs and expenses that will be
incurred prior to the initial operation of the business.

For dine-in customers, there will be an air-conditioned, spacious, and clean area where
they can enjoy their tea. For take-out orders received from a call of those customers who
can’t reach our shop for the mean time, there will be a delivery vehicle that will deliver the
tea to the customer’s place. CPA Coolers Tea Shop will put up a special effort to give
customers a great experience, service and pleasant environment to create a loyal customer
base.

D. Important Highlights

The idea of opening a tea shop is inspired by two reasons; the scarcity of establishments
around the setting of Marawi due to the devastation of war in its central market and the
weather that Marawi has. There are already many dining establishments that have the same
products such as pizzeria and coffee shop in the city, and it would be not good to increase the
number of such establishments. That is why starting a tea shop will be profitable.

Mission

To provide the best quality (Fresh and healthy), reasonably priced products in the food
beverage industry.

Vision

Our business bears the vision of providing fun, deliciously, appetizing, uniquely
enchanting beverage products while maintaining our commitment to uncompromised quality at
economical rates with a heartening purpose to cater society’s need, taste, and preferences rather
than simply convincing our customers to try and like whatever products we develop.

Objective

 To promote, protect and maintain our image at all times

~3~
 To make sure that we provide quality products and offer excellent services to all
customers
 To make tapioca stall properly laid out, maintained and profitable.

1. Management Aspect

Owners or partners will be responsible for the overall management and

supervision of the business to keep and maintain the function of the business. They
have agreed that they will manage the tea shop through a scheduled time wherein one
(1) partner will report every 3 consecutive days and will be replaced by another
partner thereafter.

The partners also have come to an agreement that six (6) employees with the
necessary skills will be hired.

2. Socio-Economic Aspect

The food and beverage industry has a unique role in expanding economic
opportunity because it is universal to human life and health. This is also the reason
why the research proponents have decided to establish a tea shop.

The realization of this project definitely means additional income for the local
government through annual fees on business permit and licenses and also for the
national government through monthly percentage taxes and income taxes. The
business also provides additional employment which adds to its desirability in the
community. In recognition of its responsibility towards the environment, it commits
to the observance of the Marawi City Ecological Waste Management Ordinance.

3. Marketing Aspect

~4~
The target market of the proposed business is the students, employees, and
businessmen. The proposed location of the business is in the Upper Commercial
Center of Mindanao State University, Marawi City of which the said target market
will not have the trouble in reaching CPA Coolers Tea shop.

Thus, the marketing study substantiates the possibility of CPA Coolers Tea shop
sharing in the market to address the need for tea shop in the area as reflected in the
demand-supply gap analysis. The gap is too wide that it is possible to expect a full
capacity operation of the business within the next five years as it enjoys a certain
portion of the demand-supply gap. With that, the study assumes a full utilization of
the business’ capacity during its first five years of operation for the purpose of
computing the projected annual gross revenue. With the increasing trend of demand-
supply gap, the business’ expansion in the near future is even possible.

The proposed business will be advertising through tarpaulins and by giving flyers
to public and commercial areas indicating the day and highlights of its grand opening
and the promos.

4. Financial Aspect

In order to realize this project, the five proponents are to form a business
partnership. They intend to collectively manage the business with six (6) staffs to be
employed. Each partner is to contribute five hundred thousand pesos (P500,000.00) to
come-up with a start-up capital of two million pesos (P2,000,000.00); included in this
capital is the amount that will be used to cover the expenses and other costs that will
be incurred prior to the initial operation of the business.

From the financial statement projections made, the proponents can reasonably
assume that estimated sales will be sufficiently enough to cover its expenses and can
still provide a positive return to partners’ investments.

5. Technical Aspect

~5~
The technical study discusses the legal requirements, location site, ordering
system, supplies, equipment, furniture and fixtures and layout of the proposed
business.

The research proponents will only be purchasing supplies if 70% of each stock is
consumed and this would be purchased on a cash basis. However, the supply of
desserts would be delivered by the supplier daily.
