    Literature is a timeless piece of entertainment that not just only entertain but also

    inform. As a pre-service English teacher, reading serves as my fountain of knowledge.


    By reading, we can fully immerse ourselves into a different mindset and figure out how
    others think and feel. It also serves as a reflection of humanity and a way for us to
    understand each other. Upon further discussing the introduction of literary criticism, we
    delve into the purpose, benefits, and techniques of literary criticism. To critic someone
    else works a challenging task to do. We must be knowledgeable enough and analyze
    the work first before giving constructive criticism.
    My criticizing concept is somewhat negative, but after learning about the purpose
    and benefit of criticizing literature, it made me realize that challenging myself by
    allowing others to criticize my work will help me become better in the crafts I do. I have
    also learned that finding purpose in everything that I read is a must. As a reader myself,
    understanding any written art message beyond the text is crucial to maximizing the
    opportunity to be entertained and educated fully.
    I believe that literature is vital because of its benefits and purpose. The first value
    to note from the first set of reports is that studying how to criticize literature allows the
    students to respond to literature and develop their own opinions about the topic. The
    second value to note is that literature enables the reader to see through other people's
    lenses. Therefore, it becomes a speculum into the world as to how other people view it.
    It is a journey that is carved in pages and actuated by the imagination of the reader. It
    also prepares individuals from an early age to discover the true importance of literature:
    comprehend and understand situations from many perspectives. The third is that
    literature can act as a time machine, enabling individuals to go into a specific story
    period into the protagonist's mind and soul. It is unfeasible to switch bodies with another
    human being, and it is impossible to thoroughly understand the complexity of their
    world. But as an alternative, literature is the closest thing the world has to be able to
    understand another person whole-heartedly. Literature is a contemplation of humanity
    and a way for us to connect and understand each other. By reading another person's
    words, we begin to decipher how an individual thinks.
    As we grow old, we explore other books that propel us towards the subject's
    curiosity and the overall text. As the innovations of technological advancements have
    developed, the way we read has revolutionized and evolved. However, the essence of
    storytelling and its effect on the lives of its readers has not wavered. And one way for a
    reader to fully understand the text they are reading is to know how to criticize literature.
    My goal is to absorb as much knowledge I can gain from reading and utilize the
    literature that I have read at its maximum. Therefore, I will look for purpose in everything
    that I read and understand text beyond its literal meaning. I should appreciate the
    author's purpose and connect to the literature on a deeper level. Literature nowadays,
    has expanded into countless libraries and in the minds of many as the gateway for
    understanding and interest of the human mind and the world around them. I should take
    this to my advantage and absorb as much knowledge as possible from reading to use
    these learnings in my future endeavors.
