Instructions:

1. Write ten sentences in the active voice. Then, rewrite them in the passive voice. (2 points
per sentence)

Ex. ACT. My cousin remodeled that old house.


PASS. That old house was remodeled by my cousin.
1. ACT: A homeless man won the lottery.
PASS: The lottery was won by a homeless man.

2. ACT: The dog ate the biscuits.


PASS: The biscuits were eaten by the dog.

3. ACT: Luisa killed the cat.


PASS: The cat was killed by Luisa.

4. ACT: Danishka broke the car.


PASS: The car was broken by Danishka.

5. ACT: Christian ate six shrimp at dinner.


PASS: At dinner, six shrimp were eaten by Christian.

6. ACT: Daniel read the novel in one day.


PASS: The novel was read by Daniel in one day.

7. ACT: I will clean the room every Friday.


PASS: The room will be cleaned by me every Friday.

8. ACT: Tom painted the entire car.


PASS: The entire car was painted by Tom.

9. ACT: The teacher will give you instructions.


PASS: Instructions will be given to you by the teacher.

10. ACT: The kangaroo carried her baby in her pouch.


PASS: The baby was carried by the kangaroo in her pouch.
