Warm-up and Objective Discussion
The students are asked about the last story they read and the moral points of it. Then they are
given copies of the short story chosen by the teachers. They start discussing about the topic.
They would brainstorm what comes to their mind and talk about any perceptions.

Next, I ask students to talk about real-world experiences in person and try to engage them with
the class. Then I tell students that today’s story has a moral and we will talk about it at the end
of the session.

I explain that this unit is very important because it can help them get to know many new
vocabularies and also extend the knowledge of grammar.

The students use take a look at the title and listen to the audio version of the story. Then I play
audio telling the story. They listen and try to get the main idea. Meanwhile I write the new
words on the board.

Then we will talk about the gist of the story. Some volunteers may read it to focus on
pronunciation.

While this, I ask other students to note down the verbs used in the text in future simple. While
talking about the story, I elicit the sentences in simple future and write some samples on the
board
Guided Practice ❑ R ❑ W ❑ L ❑ S
Reading:
They will be divided into groups of four to have a jigsaw activity. They discuss about what
thy get from the story and then they start scanning. Meanwhile, I would walk around and assist
students if they need any help.

At this point the students will discuss about each part of the story in groups and each student
speaks as an agent of his/her group. They should have peer work to combine their thinking and
work together to produce a collaborative communication using the grammar taught in the
course.

Pre-Writing:
We will have a brainstorming. I write he topic on the board and ask the students to tell me
whatever comes to their mind. Then, I make them into groups of four and ask them to write a
on behalf of a nature element. They can imagine what will happen if the were the first
character of the story. They can start with: I will face this situation…
Then thy pass their notes to each other to complete at least two paragraphs.

Grammar:
The students are asked to use simple future tense in their sentences after the drills are done in
the class.
Independent Practice ❑ R ❑ W ❑ L ❑ S
Writing and reading:
At this stage, I ask the, to make outlines of what has been worked in the class and write a story
on their own using future tenses and present a summary to the whole class along with the
moral point of it.

Assessment ❑ R ❑ W ❑ L ❑ S
In addition to the group activities and summary presentations, I would give a small in-class
game quiz to assist the student’s understandings of the vocabularies and grammar and check to
make sure everyone is on the same page. If someone is not, I would figure out how to help the
individual student to allow success for everyone.

Post-Writing:
As an assignment, they will make a PowerPoint presentation of their story for the next session.
