DREDGING

Since December 2019, STI has had a Suction Cutter

Dredge "CSD Salaverry", in order to have permanent
dredging and maintenance of the port depth of 10.5
meters minimun. In addition to this, each year a dredge
ship is hired to dredge the entire port.

From june 6, 2020, Pier 2 will be out of service for approximately one year due to a complete restructuring of the pier and thus provide better
service to the ships. therefore, only piers 1A & 1B will be available during this time. Piers 1A & 1B has new fender and new bollard of 100 MT &
120 MT in order to be able to use the "Shore Tension System" when it´s required due to swell.

Shore Tension is a dynamic mooring system that

allows the operation of the ships in our port with
anomalous wave conditions. It's four pistons allow
the ship to be held firmly to the berth, thus
providing stability and minimizing the risk of
breaking the ship´s lines, guaranteeing secuity for
the port workers and the ship.
