LESSON PLAN IN MATHEMATICS I

I. OBJECTIVE
At the end of the class, the students will be able to:
a. Read and writes ordinal numbers from 1st to 10 th
b. Understand the ordinal position

 Prayer

Now we will have our review.

all about ORDINAL NUMBERS.
As you can observed on the video
the song or video is all about
ordinal numbers.

What is Ordinal Numbers?

Ordinal number is used to tell the


position or place in a given
sequence or arrangement.

The last two letters of the ordinal


number word are:
st, nd, rd, and th

Ordinal numbers can be written in


two ways, the word form and
number form.

How can we write ordinal numbers


in word form?

First
Second
Third
Fourth
Fifth
Sixth
Seventh
Eighth
Ninth
Tenth

How about in number form?

1st
2nd
3rd
4th
5th
6th
7th
8th
9th
10th

We write the number and copy or


write the last two letters of ordinal
words.

How can we apply it in real life?

The picture show of cars to race.

Here is another example:

The sample picture shows some


athletes competing 400meters
race.

We can use ordinal numbers to


define their position.

The number 1st (First), 2nd


(Second), 3rd (Third), 4th (Fourth),
5th (Fifth), 6th (Sixth), 7th (Seventh),
8th (Eighth), 9th (Ninth) and 10th
(Tenth) tell the position of different
athletes in the race. Hence, all of
them are ordinal numbers.
