The LCM can handle 159 devices.
Each CPU can be connected to 5 LCM and 5 LEM.
All The LCM connected to the CPU through the multi drop cable.
All the devices connected to it must have a node address starts from 1 t0 159.
The FGS devices that do not have an node address connected to the loop using;
o Control module (Output). Used For example for horns.
o Monitor Module (Input). Used for example for MCP.
o Relay Module: Used for relays control.
Each point or device can be identify usually as LxxxDxxx or LxxxMxxx. Where L
is loop, D is detector and M is Module.
3. LEM:
Loop extension module (LEM) is an extension loop for the LCM.
Each CPU can be connected to 5 LCM and 5 LEM.
The LEM connected to the LCM.
All the devices connected to it must have a node address starts from 1 t0 159.
The FGS devices that do not have an node address connected to the loop using;
o Control module (Output). Used For example for horns.
o Monitor Module (Input). Used for example for MCP.
o Relay Module: Used for relays control.
Each point or device can be identify usually as LxxxDxxx or LxxxMxxx. Where L
is loop, D is detector and M is Module.
4. XP Module:
The XP modules has three types:
o XPM: For monitoring:
o XPC: For control.
o XPR: for relays.
Each XP module has a node address so it can be part of the LCM or LEM module.
XP used generally to connect to a devices using dry contact (no address or voltage
connection).
It contains 7 connection ports the first one connect to the LCM or the LEM. The
rest are used to connect to the devices.
The address of the ports 2 to 7 are assigned using pots. Port 2 will have the address
of the pots and then incremented according to the number of port. For example if
the address in the pot are 11 then port 2 will has node address 11, 3 will has 12 and
so on.
If the port not used it should be shorted using a 47kohm resistance.
The voltage between the common of the port and the positive is 9V without the
47kohm and about 4V with the resistance.
5. NCM:
Network control module (NCM) use to connect the CPU (XLS3000) to other
panels of the same type or else.
NCM contains a USB connection, it can be used to download or upload to all the
panels (CPU or XLS) that connected to the network.
6. AMPS:
Addressable main power supply.
Should be configured using the PC.
7. APS
Axillary Power Supply.
XLS3000 Software:
1. VeriFire:
VeriFire is the main XLS3000 software. Use it to make the IO assignments, logic,
and Framework upgrade, upload and download. This software is simple and
straight forward.
This software need a licenses to work probably. This licenses should be given only
to a trained personal.
To create a project do the following:
o Create a new nod with unique node name. This name will represent the
XLS3000 panel address.
o Create The Loops: In the project tree go to the “LOOP” create a new loop.
o Each loop contains a detectors and Modules. Add the detectors and the
Modules in its related tap. Add the items in its correct address. Complete the
other configuration.
o Add the logic in the “logic equations”. The logic part and CBE will describe
later in this documents.
2. ONXWORKS:
ONXWORKS is the graphic software for the XLS3000.
It installed on the PC (Station).
This PC is connected to the XLS3000 network with a unique nod name.
The work related to this Software is:
o Building the Background:
o The devices address should appear automatically.
o Drag the required device and drop on the correct location on the graphic.
There is no need to build a shapes it will automatically add to the graphic when
you drag and drop the device on the page.
3. Power Supply Software:
The AMPS is configured through spatial software.
4. Modbus Gateway:
You can configure the Modbus gateway through any Internet browser by connect
the PC to the NCM and then enter the ip of the Modbus gateway.
There are also a simple custom logic can be added to the XLS3000 in the logic
equation.
All the detector and the modules are segregated into Zones.
The input devices (detectors) should be configured to a single or multi Zones. The
zone identification done on the (Loops->Loop<n>->Detectors->CBE<n>). You
can assign each detector to the required zone by adding “Zn” (Z1,2,3,…..) in the
CBE field.
The output devices is assigned to a Zone by adding ZLn (ZL1,2,…..) to the CBE.
A custom simple logic can be added to the “Logic Equation”. The logic equations
can be added to a separate sheet in series. For example.
ID Logic Equation Description
1 AND(NOT(Z41),Z1) ZL1=1 if Z41=0 and Z1=1
44 AND(Z2,Z3) ZL44=1 if Z2=1 and Z3=1
Important note: You cannot use the ZLn+1 in the equation of ZLn. The XLS3000
scan start from the ZL1 to the end.
Other Notes:
The Duct Smock detector (inside the cooling duct) covered with plastic case, do
not remove that case during the SAT because it will give you a system alarm.
The device node address is set through 2 pots on the back side of each one.
Some smoke detectors may not work because it is filled with dust during the
construction. In order to clean it please do not blow it with you moth, use vacuum
or a blower.
