    How social issues presented in the film Rizal sa Dapitan can be resolved by education?

    In 1982, Jose Rizal was exiled in Dapitan. Rizal decided to stay at the place of Captain
    Ricardo Carnicero. The one who look after at Jose Rizal then became friends with each other.
    Rizal was permitted to go anywhere he wants near at the plaza. Rizal established a school in
    Dapitan and offer free education to those who are poor. He taught them Spanish, English,
    Mathematics and how to work. At his stay in Dapitan he cured his mothers’ eye. He also met
    Josephine Bracken who brought her blinded stepfather.

    We all know at the time were Jose Rizal was still living the Spanish government where
    burning against him because the novel he wrote against them which is Noli Me Tangere and El
    Filibusterimo. Also at that time Filipino were racially discriminated on its own country. Now the
    question is Can education resolved these social issues? Or how education can resolved social
    issues? As we observe at the film we can see that most of people’s brain was manipulated
    because they don’t know who they should believe and have a lack of knowledge. Many
    philosophers quoted that “Education is the most powerful weapon”. By having education we will
    learn various things especially manners. Through education we also learn what is wrong and
    what is right so that others can’t deceive or manipulate us. Having a social issue or problem
    within the society can affects the real world like gender inequality, poverty, racism and
    discrimination. Based on religion are some of the many social issues prevailing in our society.

    We as a young man/woman or what they called paggasa ng bayan need an education for
    the future generation to guide them what is right and what it is not to do. By doing that it means
    we are spreading and sharing education or knowledge to others. Not only have we educated them
    we also help them knowing what they should do and whatnot. Education empowers everyone to
    fight for their rights and challenge the possible issues or problems. Education also promotes self-
    awareness to know ourselves before educating others. Through this we can help the world for not
    doing the same event at the past instead we can grow as one with no worries. Everyone needs
    education and education should be use in a proper ways so that everyone can live peacefully.
    Rizal taught us that education is powerful more than anything.
