A hamburger is almost always the best value on a menu, though fillingness-wise but not calorie-wise.
According to healthyeating.sfgate.com, burgers can be high in dietary cholesterol and saturated fat. Dietary
cholesterol and saturated fat can raise levels of cholesterol in your blood and increase your risk for heart disease.
So if you dont want to indulge those health risks, why not try making banana peels turn into delicious patties
instead of throwing them away.

Our banana peel burger patties taste just like those commercialized burger patties. Yet, this is comparably
much more cheaper and can be easily found in your kitchen. With the high price of beef today, the ingredients in a
half-pound, house-ground cheeseburger are far more expensive than the project we are conducting. Although, it
may not satisfy the palate of some, it may still appeal vegetarians. Futhermore, here are some nutrition facts of
eating banana peels, according to the U.S Food and Drug Administration:
· Eases mood and relieves depression
· Helps Good Digestion and Lose Weight
· Better vision
· Strengthen bones
· Anti-Cancer Agent

There are many things we could use to make burger patties. But then, we settled to banana peelings. A
banana peel also known as a banana skin in British English, is the outer covering of the banana fruit. According to
hort.purdue.edu, The word "banana" is a general term embracing a number of species or hybrids in the genus
Musa of the family Musaceae.

Banana peels are not poisonous. In fact they are edible- and packed with nutrients. Though not commonly
eaten in the West, banana peels have historically have been a food item in Asia. They are usually served cooked,
boiled or fried, though they can be eaten raw or put in the blender with other fruits. They are not as sweet as
banana flesh. Eating a riper peel will be sweeter than an unripe one as suggested by the livescience.com.

Banana peelings are suitable ingredient in making burger patty because, as mentioned above, they are
way more affordable and way more healthier than the commercialized patty. Aside from being cheap, banana peels
are said to be medically beneficial especially for those suffering from obesity, depression and cancer based on the
studies made by Food and Nutrition Research Institute, 2011 (FNRI).

We hope to achieve to create a product which would help the environment and community benefit from
it. Our project will surely help lessen the waste especially on remote areas of the country which are using and
eating this type of food. Our goal is to inspire others to create more experiments which have a great impact and
can help in our society.

III. Methodology
This research about making burger patties out of musa sapientum peelings was aimed to produce a cheap

strengthen the researchers' view on this topic. But these were not enough so experiments were conducted by the
researchers to gain additional information.
