    Nylon has excellent resistance to chemicals and hydrocarbons in normal usage. It is resistant to most organic solvents and oils but is attacked by strong acids, alkalis, and some chlorinated hydrocarbons. Nylon's properties include a specific gravity of 1.14, tensile strength between 8,700-13,000 PSI, and elongation between 50-200%. It can withstand temperatures between -40 to 80 degrees Celsius continuously but up to 170 degrees intermittently.
