With reference to your application dated 02-01-2019, I have been directed to


appoint to you as staff nurse with effect from 4-01-2019 with the following
conditions.

a. You will be paid a consolidated salary of Ra. 12000/- per month

b. You will report for duty as per the instructions and will not work with while
on employment at this hospital any other institution.

c. If you intend to resign, you are to give 1 month’s notice to the management
and if the notice period is less than 30 days, your one month consolidated
pay will be taken as penalty

d. The expenditure incurred for medical check up, immunization, ID card,


hostel expenditure, dept dress and special courses undergone fees etc will
also be deducted if an employee leaves the job without 30days prior notice.

e. You will be provided free accommodation [without food] by this hospital if


required. Electricity and water charges are to be paid on sharing basis.

f. You will be abide by the rules of hospital

g. Management resers the right to terminate your services and relieve you at
any time without assigning reasons thereon.

JOB DISCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities:

Direct Patient care

1. Carryout the procedures of admission and discharge of the patient.


2. Makes comfortable, clean and tidy beds of ill patients and helps or guides
students or Group “D” employees to make beds, by supplying linen.

3. Maintains personal hygiene and comforts of the patient.

4. Attends to the nutritional needs of the patient and feeds the helpless patients.

5. Maintains clean and safe environment for the patient and relatives and health
team members.

6. Implements and maintains ward policies and routines.

7. Co-ordinates patient care with other team members.

8. prepare the patient for specified surgical procedure

9. Follow pre operative and post operative instructions clearly

10.Maintain effective communication skills with the patient, family and others

Ward/Unit Management

1. Helps the ward in charge to carryout her/his work or act as ward in charge
during their absence.

1. Maintains general cleanliness of the ward and the sanitary annexure.

2. Supervises the duties of Group “D” employees and guides them and reports
accordingly.

3. Writes the diet register and supervises the distribution of diet and report if
any, necessary.

4. Maintains daily patient census

5. Bring in notice to the ward in-charge if equipments are in need

6. Allots the patients beds according to the severity of the severity of the
surgery or separates aseptic cases from septic cases

7. Maintains aseptic environment of the wound dressing area

8. Autoclaving of articles, instruments, gloves, linen etc. required for various


types of surgery.

9. Assist the surgeon and anesthetist in every step, skillfully while performing
various types of surgery.

Management of units

1. Indent and procurement of all the necessary equipments, drugs, O2 cylinder,


which are required for the units.
2. Operates ECG, EEG, cardiac resuscitation etc. or other sophisticated high-
tech machines whenever needed or assist the doctors in operating such
machines.

3. Assists the doctors in admission and discharge of patients.

Educational Function

1. Carries out health teaching for individual or group of patients.

2. Extends co-operation and participates in clinical teaching.

3. Participates in in-service education programmes.
