Last month, my family visited my uncle’s house in Wonosobo, Central Java for our cousin’s
wedding party. It was a long semester holiday, so I decided to stay longer there and my parents
returned home for work. Besides, my cousins from Ambon and Biak were there too.
The following day after the party, my cousins and I planned to go to Dieng Plateu. We
wanted to enjoy the golden sunrise. We went there by car at 3 a.m. It took about an hour to reach
the hiking post. My cousin’s frend, Sinta lives near the plateu, so she became our tour guide.
When we arrived there, Sinta welcomed us warmly. Then, she guided us to reach the peak to
see the golden sunrise. We walked about an hour in a very cold weather. We arrived at the peak
around 4.30 a.m and waited for the sunrise. A few minutes later, the golden sunrise from the east.
It was so beautiful that we took photos. Then, we returned to the post and had breakfast.
It was tiring, but enjoyable.
Last month I had a two week holiday. I had no plan to go anywhere as my parents were
busy. When I browsed the internet, there appeared an advertisement about a portable sewing
machine. I was interested in purchasing it, to stitch my worn dresses.
I found my money was enough to buy the portable machine, so I bought it online. The
product arrived three days later. At first, I was confused about how to use it. I had never sewn
using such a machine before. I read the manual carefully and tried to stich my worn clothes. I
was happy that I could finally operate it. I continued stitching worn clothes, pillowcase even
curtains.
Several days later, I had an idea to make a simple dress. It would be more difficult and
take longer time, but I would try. I imitated a simple pattern on the internet, applied it on the
fabric then sew it. The stitches were not tidy but I kept on sewing. The most difficult part was
when I had to stich the armpits. I kept on practicing. Finally, I could make my own dress.

Gita and I work as an employee in a music store. I handle the cash register and Gita talk
to costumers. We work there to gain experience in real life situations and we both are also music
enthusiasts. I learn to play the guitar and Gita is a violin prodigy. Our days in the store are
colorful.
Yesterday, the store was very quiet. We had not got any visitor since we opened the store.
The manager told us to take it easy. We sat on our counter waiting for costumers.
Unable to handle the stagnation, I took out my guitar and played it. I played any songs to
lift my mood a little. Suddenly, Gita decided to play a long too. She played her violin beautifully
in response to my guitar playing. The sound was pretty loud that our manager came out to check
us. We stopped our playing and apologized to him. However, he asked “why are you guys stop?’
then he sat on the piano table and started playing while asking us to continue.
We were engrossed in playing music that we didn’t realize the music was heard outside
the store. People passing by decided to stop and watched us playing. There were already
crowded in front of the store. However, we didn’t stop because they were enjoying it. When our
performance was done, a big round of applause was heard. In the end, many of those passers-by
went to store. They either gave us their appreciation or showed their interest to buy instruments.
