MasterKure® 181

Acrylic resin based multi-role curing, sealing and protective membrane for concrete

DESCRIPTION TYPICAL PROPERTIES*

MasterKure 181 is a non-degrading, membrane-
forming liquid based on acrylic resin suitable for Appearance: Clear/Opaque liquid
spray application to freshly poured concrete. Specific gravity: Clear 0.810 at 25°C
MasterKure 181 is available as a clear opaque White 0.858 at 25°C
liquid and white solar reflective version. Flashpoint: 35°C (PMCC)
Finished film Clear or White, tack
The resultant film retains sufficient moisture in the appearance: free, water repellent
concrete to ensure full hydration of the cement; film
essential for optimum strength development. The *Water Retention Pass
cured concrete is typically harder and exhibits a (ASTM C309):
dust free surface with a reduced incidence of *Drying Time 1 h and 45 min at
drying shrinkage cracks. (ASTM C309): 23°C
* Result available for the Clear variant
Additionally, the membrane acts as a primer
system for many subsequent surface finishes that

ADVANTAGES MasterKure 181 will act as a primer for paint
• Eliminates the need for water systems and will enable most surface treatments
• Imparts a harder dust free surface to progress with minimal delay.
• Does not support the growth of bacteria
• Non degrading, acts as a primer system Typical surface treatments that will bond to
• Minimal delay for overcoating etc. surfaces with MasterKure 181 are:
• Abrasion resistant floors
• High curing efficiency • Water based emulsion paints containing PVA,
• Reduced labour costs PVC or acrylic co-polymers.
• Reduces chloride penetration • Tile adhesives based on the above polymers.
• Bituminous emulsions and solutions.
PACKAGING • Polyurethane resin systems.
MasterKure 181 is available in 200 L drums. • Polysulphide systems.
• Epoxy resin compositions which do not rely on
penetration for substrate bond.
