Tabernacle Prayer Guide: The Gate
1. The Gate
There is only one way to enter into the Tabernacle and there is a way to enter into prayer. This
is a powerful way to start your prayer, with thanksgiving, praise and blessing His name.
Psalm 100:4 – Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful
unto him, and bless his name.
The altar is a place of sacrifice. It is the place of shedding of blood. This represents the cross of
Jesus Christ, where He paid the ultimate sacrifice for sin. We must all come by the cross.
Repentance happens at the cross. We must remember the sacrifice He made for our redemption
and the blessing that it has brought to our lives. The Brazen Altar (the Cross) is a place of
provision.
Hebrews 9:22 – And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of
blood is no remission.
Psalm 103:1-5 – Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. 2 Bless
the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who
healeth all thy diseases;4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with
lovingkindness and tender mercies;5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy
youth is renewed like the eagle's.

3. The Laver of Water
The Laver was a place of cleansing and reflection. It is a place of seeing myself through the
reflection of God’s word and asking for mercy and help. At the laver we recognize our need of
purification and our declare our desire to be like Jesus. To be like Jesus.

4. The Lamp Stand
Once we have passed through the gate of praise, spent time at the altar of sacrifice and washed
at the laver of cleansing we are ready to enter behind the first veil into the tent of blessing.
The Lamp stand represents the Spirit of God. We need to ask God to bless us with the Gifts of
His Spirit. When we receive the Holy Ghost we are filled with God’s Spirit and we must learn to
walk in the Spirit. We need to pray in the Spirit.
Isaiah 11:2 – And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and
understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the
LORD;
I Corinthians 14:1 – Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may
prophesy.

II Timothy 1:6 – Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is
in thee by the putting on of my hands.
This represents the Word of God. We must allow God to speak to us through His Word. God will
never speak anything to you that is against His Word. We need to get a word for the day and
claim the promises of His Word. Most prayer is a one way conversation, we must listen to God.
God will gives us revelations, ideas and truths.
Joshua 1:8 - This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate
therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for
then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Hebrews 4:16 - Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain
mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Proverbs 18:10 - The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is
safe.
Study – Get into the Word, go deeper, seek understanding of God is speaking and doing.
Verbalize – Memorize the word so you can speak it and know it.
The altar of incense was lit by the coals from the brazen altar. Blood paid for the fire to bring us
into covenant with God. Incense always represents worship. This is intimacy with God. Learning
and knowing God.
Two things in scripture come before God as incense: 1. Prayer & Praise - 2. Giving
What we give to God is worship, our time, talents and treasure. God will be pleased when we
give the sacrifice of our lips, when we do good, and when we share what we have with others.
God responds to worship and giving.
Hebrews 13:15-16 - By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that
is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.16 But to do good and to communicate forget
not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
Acts 10:4 - And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said
unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

7. The Ark of the Covenant – The Holiest of Holies
Behind the second veil is the holiest of holies. This is where intersession is made. This is the
place of the mercy seat where God’s presence dwells.
Romans 8:26-28 - 26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we
should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which
cannot be uttered.27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit,
because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.28 And we know that
all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to
his purpose.
I Timothy 2:1-3 - I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and
giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may
lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in
the sight of God our Saviour;
