4 Preparing for Interviews

Job Summary

Applying to the web developer position in the appcolony agency.

1. Tell me about yourself.

Since I was a child, I have had a great passion for technology. At the age of 16 I started my first technological
project with which I was able to represent the institution where I was studying, receiving awards and a
scholarship to one of the best technological institutions in my country. In this institution I studied mechatronics,
then I went to USA to study engineering economics and project development. I worked for 3 years working as 3D
designer and developer of 3D printers.

These experiences show that I own the qualities that you look for in an employee and you can be sure that I will
put all my knowledge and experience in making you grow as a company. I feel that your values and goals are
very much in line with me and I understand that both of us would like to work together.

2. What are your strengths?

I have a background in Tech project management, robotic and economic engineering. My
superpower is my organizational skills paired with creative experience, being the leader developing
technological projects as my past job. My experience working as a team leader and collaborating with
other persons has provided me with nice communication skills, and a better perspective of how the
complex problems must be solved as a team. I am excited to combine the skills of my past career
with my current Web Developer skills and build new amazing things.

3. What do you need to improve on? (What are your weaknesses?

Generally, if I spot a weakness I make the effort to fix it. My weakness is the inability to connect
quickly with other people. It takes me time to connect with someone, however I can engage in any
conversation, work and share with anyone. But when it comes to feeling like a family with someone, I
must know it very well before. I think this is a weakness because relationships are essential to
succeed in life and if you do not connect very easily with someone then your interpersonal
relationship skills are not as effective, because if you are with an investor you need to connect at that
moment In order for trust to flow, the opportunities to gather again will be exhausted if you do not
connect with it at that moment. Right now I am reading books to improve my interpersonal skills.
4. Tell me about a project that was more challenging than
expected. How did you handle the situation?

When I finish to study in USA I started to work as a 3D printer developer. But I did not know anything
about 3D printers. And I had to build 4 different models of complex 3D printers for a government
project in my country. The biggest challenge was to make 3D printers with a very few maintenance
needs and very easy to use. What I did was bring 2 classmates together and work as a team doing
complex investigations and testing processes.

5. How do you approach a customer or business partner that

doesn't know what they want or has project ideas that you don't
agree with?

What I would do is try first to discover what is the problem that the client wants to solve. I
would try to persuade him by showing him the advantages of putting my idea into practice,
being very careful not to offend him or belittle his idea.

6. Do you have any questions for us?
