My Personal Journey To Happiness
My Personal Journey To Happiness
My Personal Journey To Happiness
For the past few years I put different meaning to happiness. Entering into this
world , happiness was every time I receive food, love, warmth, safety, and nurturing
from my caregiver. Knowing that I have someone whom I can trust to meet my needs
with loving touches on my skin makes me feel happy and cared for. Looking back into
my preschool years, happiness was getting a candy from my mom, being able to get a
star from our teacher as a reward every time I excel in our quizzes and activities and
have new coloring materials and story books.
Yes, there are happy moments in our childhood, teenager and adolescent stage,
but it seems to me that I was able to realize how great it was to be a child and a
teenager once the simplicities of that time are taken away from me. As we grow up I
also realized that we can more appreciate the feeling of happiness since we think it`s
not always present in our lives and it`s something that we have to work for, just to have
it. The hardest part of growing up is realising everything has an ending. The pages of
life, love, friendships, good and bad times, the night, that kiss, the memories all are
finite .So it's best to savour every single moment you have and embrace all the
happiness that you`re feeling.
The challenges grow bigger, the losses deeper, the risks scarier. But we also
learn what true love feels like through friends, family and lovers. Through layers of scars
and experiences, pain enhances beauty. And when we let go, and succumb to the fact
that we aren't as grown up as we think we are, happiness becomes more attainable,
more beautiful and more precious.
