2. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION

EMERGENCY OVERVIEW: A straw colored liquid with a mild petroleum odor. Repeated or
prolonged contact may irritate skin and eyes. Mists can irritate respiratory tract. Can be
ignited at elevated temperatures but is not considered “flammable”. Discharge can be toxic
to aquatic species. Keep out of sewers and waterways.

Potential Health Hazards


Considered hazardous under the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard.
Skin: May cause irritation, especially with prolonged or repeated contact.
Eyes: Can irritate the eyes.
Inhalation: Can cause respiratory irritation.
Ingestion: May irritate digestive tract and cause nausea and discomfort. Of low oral toxicity.
Delayed effects: None anticipated

4. FIRST AID MEASURES

Skin: Wash with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and launder before reuse. If irritation
develops, seek medical advice.
Eyes: Rinse in running water for up to 15 minutes. Get medical assistance for persisting irritation.
Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. Get medical assistance if irritation persists or for any other symptom.
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Get medical assistance for discomfort or any other symptom.
Advice to physician: Treat symptomatically.

container. Small spills: Absorb spilled material with clay or other inert absorbent. Place into drums for disposal. (See
section 13). Large spills: Dike spilled material with clay or soil. Pump into containers for disposal. Do not allow liquid
to enter sewers or waterways.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

Normal Handling: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not breathe product mists.
Storage Recommendations: Store in a clean, dry area and keep containers closed. Do not store with
oxidizing agents.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION

Engineering Controls: General mechanical ventilation is sufficient for most circumstances. Local exhaust may be
required if product mists are formed.

Personal Protective Equipment


Skin Protection: Wear neoprene or other oil resistant impervious gloves.
Eye Protection: Wear safety glasses with eye shield while handling product.
Respiratory Protection: Not normally required for properly ventilated areas
