In every conflict, it is merely impossible to provide an efficient solution

without seeing and understanding the entirety of the picture, to see the bigger

perspective and not just focus on the viewpoint you’re seeing. In that case, the

judgment will always be biased and one-sided. In the Barangay Justice System,

they employ the process of mediation, upon which the mediator’s responsibility is

to present to the complainant and the respondent a clear overview of their

situation, to make them understand the circumstances they’re in and from those

presented facts, with their collective opinions gathered, come up with a solution

that will be beneficial for the both parties and will promote the common good not

only to them, but to the state.

The Barangay Justice System’s role is very crucial and essential in enforcing peace

and order in our nation. They handle the cases first hand in a community level.

Their role is very significant for in that level, they can suppress and prevent

conflicts to worsen and also, it’s a healthy opportunity to build a healthy

relationship with the general public to educate and guide them regarding their

wrong doing. Imagine if every Barangay Justice System does their function
effectively in guiding the misguided citizens by correcting them out of love and

genuine concern, surely it will impact their lives not only in a short period of time,

but will create an inside-out change which will result to a changed and purpose-

filled life. This kind of system will greatly contribute to the real change that our

nation is longing for. It’s a ripple effect of change that can impact the lives of the

people from generation to generation, but it must start from within and must be

intentionally decided by an individual. External change is temporal, it fades and is

not constant for it is emotion-based. Internal change runs in a long-term phase

for it is the soul that has been changed and the good deeds are just a mere

product, an overflowing result of that inward change. In short, the seed and root

must be firmly planted to come up with a good fruit which results to good deeds.

Change does not occur in an overnight process, nor a snap that happens in an

instance. It’s a decision, but before we arrive in having a solution, we must first

understand the problem clearly and unambiguously.
