There is so much NOISE and CHATTER in the natural living world these days about essential
oils. If you've gone looking for how to use a particular essential oil or wanted to find out what

I wanted to put simple, smart recipes for how to use essential oils in one place so you can be
equipped and inspired to use your essential oils well - WITHOUT overwhelm.
And even more than that, I am over-the-top passionate about helping people - busy parents
especially - know how to use their essential oils SAFELY. There is so much conflicting
information, so many opinions, so many loud voices - I want to cut through it all to help you
understand how essential oils work and equip you to examine for yourself so that next time
you see random advice on the internet, you can actually know whether it's worth listening to
or not.

RELIEF
1. Screen Strain Eye Serum
Mix 1 drop Helichrysum italicum, 1 drop Lavender, 1 drop Sandalwood, 1 drop Carrot Seed, and 1
tablespoon Jojoba Oil. Massage a drop or two of the mixture into your temples and under your eyes,
being careful to avoid the eyelids.
If pregnant or breastfeeding, omit the Carrot Seed.
3. Nausea Kicker
Drip 1 drop of Peppermint onto a cotton ball or add to a aromatherapy inhaler. Breathe deeply whenever
nausea threatens to overtake you.
7. Stress Melter
Add 20 drops of Lavender to a 10mL roller ball and top up with Grapeseed or Jojoba oil. Roll onto your
temples and neck to help release stress.
8. Muscle Rub
Combine 5 drops of Wintergreen and 5 drops of Frankincense to 1 tablespoon of unscented lotion. Gently
but firmly apply to overworked muscles.
Do not use this muscle rub with children or teens under the age of 18.
9. Headache Roller
Place 3 drops Sweet Marjoram, 3 drops Roman Chamomile, and 2 drops Sweet Orange in a 10mL roll-on
bottle. Top up with Jojoba Oil and apply the mixture to the temples and behind the ears to help relieve
headaches.

RELIEF
10. Long Day Foot Soak
Stir together 4 drops of Tea Tree, 3 drops of Lavender, 1 drop Ginger, and 2 drops of Peppermint
Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus dives) in 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add the olive oil to 1 cup of sea salt or epsom
salt, toss to combine, then add to 2 quarts of warm water in a large basin. Soak your feet for 20 minutes,
relax, and pat dry.

COLD & FLU SEASON
18. 'Tis the (Cold & Flu) Season
Pour hot, steaming water into a medium bowl and drip in 1 drop Eucalyptus, 1 drop Fir Needle (or Spruce),
and 1 drop Sweet Orange. Create a tent over your head with a towel to catch the steam, then carefully
lean over the bowl and inhale the steam for several minutes.

WELLNESS & SLEEP
28. Sleep Tight Spray
Place 1/2 cup witch hazel or vodka in a dark glass spray bottle and add 8-10 drops Lavender. Shake well
and spray to refresh linens and create a bedtime ambiance.
29. Nighty-Night
Add 6-8 drops Lavender to a diffuser. Diffuse at your bedside for 1-2 hours while you settle into a quiet,
restorative sleep or intermittently during the night.

CLEANING & FRESHENING UP
39. #2 Spray
Combine 3/4 cup water, 1/4 cup vodka or isopropyl alcohol, 1 teaspoon dish soap, 20 drops Bergamot, and
20 drops Grapefruit in a dark glass spray bottle. Shake and spray generously into the toilet bowl before
you sit to stop odors before they start.

CLEANING & FRESHENING UP
49. Grave Robber Ick-Fighting Surface Cleaner
Pour 2 teaspoons castile soap into an 8-ounce glass spray bottle, then drip in 5 drops Clove Bud, 5 drops
Lemon, 4 drops Cinnamon Bark, 4 drops Eucalyptus, 4 drops Rosemary, and 3 drops Lavender. Top up
with vodka, rubbing alcohol, or water. Shake well and spray on hard surfaces.
For a quick treatment or to neutralize the odor on drapes, fabrics, and furniture, mix 1 1/2 cups water and
1 1/2 cups white vinegar in a large glass spray bottle, then add in 10 drops Citronella, 10 drops Tea Tree,
10 drops Rosemary, 5 drops Lemongrass, 5 drops Lavander, and 5 drops Green Myrtle. Spritz generously
over affected areas. (Spray on an inconspicuous area first to make sure the fabric won't stain.)

58. Restaurant Kitchen Remedy
After dinner, set a pan of water to simmer with 2 drops each of Lemon and Clove Bud to cut through any
lingering cooking smells, especially after frying or roasting.

Combine 1 gallon of hot water with 1/4 cup castile soap, 20 drops Cypress, 20 drops Cedarwood Atlas,
and 20 drops Pine. Use as a spray or mopping solution.

JUST FOR KIDS
80. Monsters Away
Add 1/3 cup Lavender hydrosol or water to a 4-ounce glass spray bottle and add 5 drops Lavender and 5
drops Roman Chamomile. Spritz this calming blend around the child's bedroom, particularly under the bed
and in dark spaces, to scare away the “monsters” at bedtime.

91. Brain Fog Relief Blend
Drip 6 drops Ravintsara, 6 drops Black Spruce, and 3 drops Peppermint onto the wick of an aromatherapy
inhaler. Use as often as necessary to feel the cobwebs lift.

101. Scented Pine Cones
Drip 1 drop Cinnamon Bark and 1 drop Sweet Orange OR 2 drops Spruce, Fir Needle, or Cedarwood on
a pine cone. Repeat with 2-3 other pine cones, then place with several unscented pine cones in a large,
glass vase and use as cheery decor.

110. Sweet Feet Stinky Shoe Freshener
Pour 2 cups vodka into a glass spray bottle and drip in 10 drops Tea Tree, 10 drops Sweet Orange, and 5
drops Vanilla. . Shake well and spray the inside of stinky shoes to remove the smell. Use after each time
the shoes are used.

121. Strengthening Hair Serum
Place 1 tablespoon Jojoba oil in a small bowl and drip in 5 drops Tea Tree and 5 drops Rosemary. Rub
onto the scalp and along with hair shaft from root to tip. Wrap head with plastic wrap or a warm, moist
towel and let sit for 1-2 hours, then shampoo, rinse, and condition.
