 c, usually referred to as  (not to be confused with NTT Docomo), is a


Tata Teleservices Limited's ( ) cellular service provider on the GSM platform-arising out of
the Tata Group's strategic joint venture with Japanese telecom giant NTT Docomo in November
2008. Tata Teleservices received a pan-India license to operate GSM telecom services, under the
brand "TATA DoCoMo". Tata Docomo launched GSM services on 24 June 2009. It first
launched in South India and currently operates in 18 of 23 telecom circles.[1] Tata Teleservices is
the country's fourth largest operator in terms of wireless subscribers (including both CDMA and
GSM), after Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communications and Vodafone.[2]

Tata DOCOMO offers both prepaid and postpaid GSM cellular phone in 18 circles. It has
become very popular with its one second pulse especially in semi-urban and rural areas. They are
launching their service from the south of India to central, east and north.

Tata DOCOMO had about 32.82 million users at the end of June 2010.[3]

On 5 November 2010, Tata DOCOMO became the first private sector telecom company to
launch 3G services in India .

The 3G services that Tata Docomo currently offers are:


c  ± This service allows subscribers to do video conferencing while making voice
calls.

 c  ± It is live TV on mobile screen that can be recorded and paused. Video from here
can also be posted to social networks, and it's possible to browse the program guide and set
reminders.

 c  ± A portal for online and downloadable, single and multiplayer games. It's like a
social network for gamers so users can share their scores with their friends.

 c ± One interface for accessing multiple email accounts, social networks and instant
messengers.

c ± Allows users to add 30 second videos to text SMSs, and send video
emails. The picture or video SMS is delivered instantly, unlike traditional MMS messages; while
video mail is like voice messaging, but with video instead of voice.

c    ± This service lets users watch and download videos on the phone along
with news, weather and mobile premiers and movies made exclusively for mobiles. It also has
music for download.

   ± an app store that contains thousands of applications across categories such as music,
books, movies, travel and business.

  ± a comic viewer application that has popular comics such as Spiderman, X-Men,
Japanese Manga etc.

   ± Live darshan videos from famous shrines. One can also watch live aarti and sing along
with karaoke aartis.

 ± This service lets subscribers get live advice from astrologers on the basis of sun sign.

NTT DoCoMo holds 26 % stake in the jointly formed company. It has also emerged as the first
mobile operator in India to have re-introduced µper second¶ pulse, after Loop Mobile (formerly
BPL Mobile) discontinued their 'pay per second' service which was introduced in 2004.

  


TATA Docomo charge all local & std calls at 1p/1s. The same tariff is applicable while roaming
as well (but this is applicable only on the home network).

give help for any blood requirements under medical emergency. The service aims at offering a

On the line of Uninor, Tata Docomo, the promising GSM Mobile service brand of Tata
Teleservices recently launched their new special Tariff Pack of Rs. 199 to offer cheapest own
and off net callings in Karnataka telecom circle.

With the New STV-199, Tata Docomo¶s prepaid customer gets 120000 local seonds for Tata to
Tata Calls and 42000 seconds of local Offnet calls in Rs. 199 with 30 days of benefit validity.

It also offer free 100 Local/National SMS per day after first chargeable sms at normal rates.Till
now Uninor was the only operator in India which use to offer Unlimited plan with FUP for
198/197 with 1200000/2000 free onnet sec/mins & 42000/700 free offnet sec/mins

Tata Docomo today announced the launch of an interesting value added service called µMagic
SMS¶, for postpaid and prepaid mobile subscribers across India.

With µMagic SMS¶ service, subscribers can easily convert their ordinary SMSes into enjoyable
and attractive picture messages/MMS. The service offers a fresh SMS experience where in you
can put more of yourself into your text messages with pictures.

Tata Docomo the GSM Mobile service operator, in association with IMImobile, has announced
three new Value Added services namely Chalisaas, South Movie Masala and Panchaang & Astro
for all its subscribers in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka telecom circles.

The services are applicable to all existing and potential subscribers. All the three services come
with a monthly charge of Rs. 30 and access charges of 1p/sec.

Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL) today launched µInsta Conference¶ ± a unique audio
conferencing service using XOP Network¶s Universal Service Node (USN) platform for its GSM
and CDMA subscribers in India.

The Insta Conference service allows a customer to instantly convene a voice conference with a
pre-selected group of individuals at the press of a key. The service is available to all existing as
well as potential customers of Tata Walky, Tata Indicom and Tata DOCOMO.

It seems that though Bharti Airtel didn¶t kick off 3G campaign very well if compared with
TATA DOCOMO at present but not to forget that Bharti Airtel being the king of telecom with
over 130 million subscribers.

With huge media presence and also which acquired cricketing media rights recently can turn the
tables at any time.

Also, adding to the fact that TATA DOCOMO which failed to acquire 3G wireless spectrum in a
key metro circle like Mumbai and also it¶s still not clear when it¶s going to enter the Airwaves of
Delhi.
It¶s more important to enter key circles like Mumbai and Delhi as the ability to spend on new
technology like 3G is very high compared to other circles as 3G access requires high end
handsets where TATA has to work hard to build customers and also its network as it¶s a new
entrant.
