Höegh LNG - provider of floating LNG services

FSRU
Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU)
A floating LNG import terminal moored offshore or to a jetty allowing energy
companies to store and regasify LNG close to markets with limited impact on
land. A highly cost competitive solution to building large, shore based storage
and regasification facilities.

What is a floating LNG terminal?

A Floating Storage and Regasification Unit is permanently moored close to the market

1. Project specific mooring solution

Some other mooring examples:

Offshore mooring

Double-berth jetty

5
What is a floating LNG terminal?

An LNG carrier approaches the FSRU to bring a new cargo

The FSRU is compatible with the

2. world LNG carrier fleet
 Typically, LNGCs of 80,000 to
170,000 cbm will be used
 Both Moss and Membrane type
LNGCs are compatible

Full feasibility to discharge LNG

from the FSRU to
 LNG bunker vessels,
 short-sea LNG shipping,
 road trucks

6
What is a floating LNG terminal?

The LNG is transferred from the LNG carrier to the FSRU

LNG transfer can be done “ship-to-

1. ship” or across a berth with loading
arms or flexible hoses

Flexible hoses

Across a berth

7
What is a floating LNG terminal?

The FSRU continuously regasifies the LNG and sends high-pressure natural gas to shore

Onboard regasification of LNG

4.  Output from 1 to 10 bcm p.a., but
typically 2-5 bcm p.a.
 Multiple seawater pumps provide
the heat to warm the LNG; steam
heat may replace or supplement
the seawater heating
 A modular and skid-based design
 Proven systems and components
 High reliability

Regas skids

What is a floating LNG terminal?

The customer is provided with a clean and low cost energy – secure and reliable

 A power station with installed

5.
1. capacity of 1,500MW switching
from oil to gas will save several
hundred million USD per year in
fuel costs

 Also emissions to air are reduced

substantially

 With regional distribution in

smaller vessels using the FSRU
as mother ship, also regions not
possible to serve with pipelines
can benefit

FSRU for PGN – particulars

 Newbuild FSRU to be located 20 km

offshore South Sumatra with mooring and
off/onshore pipeline to shore
 20 year service contract covers the FSRU
 3 regas skids, normal regas rate 240
MMSCFD (2.4 BCM)
 Annual equivalent 2 mill tons of LNG
 170,000 m3 LNG storage capacity
 No dry-docking during service period
 Mooring system chosen is a Tower Yoke
 LNG loading systems side-by-side ship-to-
ship transfer using flexible hoses
