General Notes

1. Objective
This document is based on company standard specification and technical project requirements for the datasheet
On-Off, Shutdown & Blowdown Valves. This document is sample datasheet to be used as reference for Contractor to select
On-Off, Shutdown, Blowdown Valves and also preparing the datasheet.

2. General Requirement
2.1 Vendor shall be responsible for selection, supply, testing and supply of documentation of the On-Off, Shutdown & Blowdown
valves along with accessories as per attached data sheets and specification and shall be responsible
for the completion of the work to Company’s satisfaction.
2.2 Vendor shall submit drawings and data in accordance with the Vendor Data Requirement List (VDRL) and the data sheets.

3. On-Off, Shutdown and Blowdown valves requirement


3.1 Valves
3.1.1 All ball valves shall be designed as per API-6D.
3.1.2 The design, manufacturing, inspection and testing of ALL valves shall be in accordance with the following documents :
- ID-N-BU-LL0-STS-GN-00-0002 : Standard Specification Pipe Valves and Fitting
- ID-G-BU-JJ0-STS-GN-87-0001 : Standard Specification Instrument Design
- ID-N-BU-JJ1-STS-GN-00-0005 : Standard Specification Actuated Ball Valves
- ID-G-BU-DD3-STS-GN-98-0002 : Maintenance Coating Specification for Offshore and Onshore Facilities
3.1.3 All valves shall be fitted with suitable 'end of travel' stops at the fully open and fully closed positions and a local position indicator.
The design shall prevent the ingress of foreign material and corrosion products which would impair the operation of the stops.
3.1.4 All valves shall fail to the safe position on loss of electrical signal or loss of air supply. The safe failure positions
are specified in the data sheets.
3.1.5 Ball valves shall be solid type and be equipped with an anti static devices.
3.1.6 All ancillary equipment except for limit switches shall be mounted on a 1/8" 316 SS plate which shall be securely
bolted on the actuator. Devices such as restrictors and quick exhausts may be mounted inline. The vendor shall ensure that dissimilar
metals are adequately segregated to prevent galvanic corrosion.
3.1.7 Valves and ancillaries shall have permanently attached 316 SS tags with dimensions of 1" (L) x 2" (W) x 1/16" (T) as a minimum.
The tag plate shall bear the valve tag number, service, purchase order number, date of manufacture etc.
3.1.8 The field tags shall be attached with 16 AWG stainless steel wire or SS drive screws.
3.1.9 The Bolt and Nut material shall be in accordance with document no. ID-N-BU-LL0-STS-GN-00-0002
“Standard Specification Pipe, Valves and Fitting”.
3.1.10 Flange facing for RF flanges shall be smooth finish to 125 ~ 250 micro inches.
3.1.11 All ball valves shall be fitted with blow-out proof stems.
3.1.12 The material certification types and traceability levels shall be as per EN 10204, edition Certification for pressure containing parts
shall be as per EN 10204 type 3.1 and all other wetted parts to type 2.2.
3.1.13 The painting of the valves shall be in accordance with Doc. No. ID-G-BU-DD3-STS-GN-98-0002
“Maintenance Coating Specification for Offshore and Onshore Facilities”.
3.1.14 Supplier shall provide pressure and temperature charts for all seat and seal materials.
3.1.15 All valves shall be hydro-tested and leak tested in accordance with API 6D with low and high pressure gas testing.

3.2 Actuator
3.2.1 The design, manufacturing, inspection and testing of actuator shall be in accordance with the following document
ID-N-BU-JJ1-STS-GN-00-0005 “Standard Specification Actuated Ball Valves”.
3.2.2 The actuator shall normally be pneumatic spring return piston, single acting type complete with mounting kit.
3.2.3 The actuator assembly provided shall have stem travel indicator that clearly shows the valve position.

General Notes

3.2.4 The Instrument air supply for the actuators is 70 psig minimum, 100 psig normal and 135 psig design.
3.2.5 The actuator shall be sized 1.3 times the breakaway torque against max dP with 80 psig air supply.
3.2.6 -
3.2.7 Vendor shall provide the schematic drawing of partial stroke facility and its operating description.
3.2.8 Pneumatic tubing shall be material 316 SS used in conjunction with double ferrule 316 SS Swagelok compression fittings.
The tubing shall be 1/2" OD X 0.049" WT
3.2.9 Pneumatic connections shall be 1/2" NPTF.
3.2.10 Actuator shall be painted with color code in accordance with Doc. No. ID-G-BU-DD3-STS-GN-98-0002
“Maintenance Coating Specification for Offshore and Onshore Facilities”.
3.2.11 Actuator colour shall be RED (RAL3002) for fail to close, GREEN (RAL6002) for fail to open and GREY (RAL7000) for fail to last position.

3.3 Limit Switches


3.3.1 Limit switches shall be electrical proximity type, Explosion proof suitable for use in Class 1 Div 2 T4 Gr D.
3.3.2 The housing material shall be Aluminum Epoxy Coated as a minimum.
3.3.3 The switches shall be two SPDT gold plated type and the contact rating shall be 1A @ 24 VDC.
3.3.4 Screwed terminals shall be provided for cable termination and flying leads are not acceptable.
3.3.5 The cable entries shall be threaded, preferably ¾” NPTF for Limit Switch.
3.3.6 The offered model shall have anti corrosion sealed fully proven construction.
3.3.7 Enclosure shall be weather proof to IP 66 as a minimum.
3.3.8 The switches shall show the status of fully open and fully closed position of the valve.

3.4 Solenoid Valves


3.4.1 Solenoid valve(s) shall be Direct Acting 3-way, Universal.
3.4.2 Vendor to advise the Make and Model number.
3.4.3 Manual reset function shall be provided as indicated by the type of control schemes stated in datasheet.
3.4.4 The solenoid valve shall vent upon de-energization.
3.4.5 The solenoid valve shall be explosion proof EEx”d” suitable for use in Class 1 Div 2 T4 Gr D.
3.4.6 The housing material shall be 316 SS
3.4.7 The solenoid valve bodies shall be of 316 SS. Valve trim shall be 316 SS with FKM Viton-B with AED (Anti Explosive Decompression)
feature c/w it's certificate.
3.4.8 Screwed terminals shall be provided for cable termination and flying leads are not acceptable.
3.4.9 The cable entries shall be threaded, preferably ½” NPTF for Solenoid.
3.4.10 The solenoid valve shall be 24V DC powered, 3 watts maximum power consumption, complete with suppression diode.
3.4.11 The exhaust ports shall be fitted with stainless sintered metal bug screens to prevent ingress of dirt and foreign particles.
The pneumatic connection size for the solenoid valve shall be 1/2" NPTF.
3.4.12 Solenoid enclosure shall be weather proof to IP66 as a minimum.

3.5 Other Accessories


3.5.1 Air filter regulator material of construction shall be 316 SS. The pneumatic connection shall be 1/2" NPTF.
Vendor to advise the Make and Model number.
3.5.2 Quick exhaust valve material of construction shall be 316 SS. Vendor to advise The Make and Model number.
3.5.3 Material of construction for ancillaries such as relief valves, flow restrictors, etc shall be 316 SS.

2. All exhaust port shall be provided with bug screen 316 SS.
3. The actuator shall be sized for 130% of the required valve reset/break torque at site maximum differential pressure as applicable.

12. Vendor shall submit torque table sizing to be checked and verified.
13. The instrument air pressure will have a normal pressure of 100 Psig. However actuators shall be capable of operating reliably with a supply pressure of 70 to 135 Psig.
14. Actuators shall be sized to allow closing stroking times not exceed 3 seconds plus 1 second for every 1" of valve body size.
15. Vendor shall test of hydrotest and gas test per code witness by purchaser, vendor shall provide enough notification of testing witnes
