Importance

This course will equip administrators with the knowledge,


skills, and abilities to build and run a VMware vSphere®
environment. This course focuses on the installation and
configuration of VMware ESXi™ hosts and VMware vCenter
Server™. This course also focuses on the management of ESXi
hosts and virtual machines with vCenter Server.
This course will help prepare IT professionals to achieve the
status of VMware® Certified Professional on vSphere 5 (VCP5).

Learner Objectives

After this course, you should be able to do the following:


 Deploy ESXi, vCenter Server (Windows-based) or vCenter
Server appliance
 Use vCenter Server to configure and manage ESXi host
networking and storage
 Deploy, manage, and migrate virtual machines
 Manage user access to virtual datacenter objects
 Use vCenter Server to monitor resource usage and to
increase scalability
 Use vCenter Server to manage data protection and high
availability
 Use VMware vCenter Update Manager to apply ESXi host
patches
