1. What are your goals for the next 6 months?

- In the next 6 months, I plan to have taken and passed my NCLEX. I also plan
to either be interviewing or have received a job offer from a pediatric hospital.
In addition, I hope to have started working toward receiving my Bachelor of
Science in Nursing (BSN).

2. How do you plan to achieve your goals for the next 6 months?

- I plan to achieve these goals by registering to take the NCLEX as soon as we


are cleared to do so and studying every day until then. I also plan to have
applied to Miami Dade College, and several other schools where I can
receive my BSN. Once I pass the NCLEX, I plan on applying to several
pediatric hospitals and units.

3. What are your goals for the next 3 years?

- Within the next 3 years I plan to have received my BSN, and to be gaining as
much experience as possible on the unit where I end up working. By the end
of the 3 years I hope to gain the confidence, knowledge, and skills to move on
to a more critical unit such as Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) or
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

4. How do you plan to achieve your goals for the next 3 years?

- I plan to achieve these goals by finishing the bachelor’s program that I will
attend, and by remaining on the same pediatric unit for at least 2-3 years to
gain as much knowledge, skills, and experience as I can to continue on to
intensive care.

5. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

- In 10 years, I see myself having received my degree as a Family Nurse


Practitioner and possibly working in a dermatology office or a doctor’s office
full time, and also working per diem as a PICU or NICU nurse.

6. Which professional organizations do you belong to?

- N/A

7. Do you presently belong to an organization which is related to your future


nursing career such as the Critical Care Nursing Organization, Emergency
Room Nurses Org. Pediatric Nursing Association, etc.

8. What are the Standards and Scope of Practice of the Nurses in your future
career?

- The Scope of Practice for a Family Nurse Practitioner includes: preconception


and prenatal care; well-woman and illness care; well-child and illness care;
episodic care for acute illnesses for all ages, including minor acute injuries;
management of chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, asthma;
monitoring and co-management of primary care conditions with a specialist
for potentially unstable conditions; case management for any long-term illness
or condition.

9. What are the requirements to be certified in your future career?

- The requirements to be certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner are: earning


your Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, obtain a registered nurse
license, pursue specializations while working as a registered nurse, apply and
gain admission to an accredited Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
program, earn your MSN degree, obtain certification from the American
Nurses Credentialing Center, and obtain a nurse practitioner state licensure.

10. How do you plan to achieve the certification?

- I plan on achieving this certification by first obtaining my Bachelor of Science


in Nursing degree within the next 3 years, and then working as a pediatric
nurse for at least 3-5 years before pursuing an admission into a Master of
Nursing program and completing the program and receiving my nurse
practitioner licensure.

11. Which professional competencies do you hold? Such as BLS, ACLS, PALS,
etc.?

- The professional competency that I currently hold is BLS.

12. Which professional competencies do you plan to obtain in the next 6


months?

- The professional competencies that I plan to obtain within the next 6 months
are PALS and ACLS.

13. Have you participated in a professional activity? If so, what have you done?

- N/A
