Introduction

Industrial Arts is one of the areas of Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE)

that provides senior high school students with the technical and vocational knowledge,

skills and attitude (KSA) for them to be competitive locally and globally.

In Libertad National High School under the course of Industrial Arts, students

from Grade 11 and 12 (SHS) are exposed and trained in Electrical Installation and

Maintenance (EIM) NC II. This program focused in training the students in installing

and maintaining electrical wiring, lighting, and related equipment and systems in various

establishments.

The program is based on the Training Regulations (TR) of the Technical

Education, Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) which comprises with the

following competences.

 Participate in workplace communication

 Work in a team environment

 Practice career professionalism

 Practice occupational health and safety

 Prepare construction materials and tools

 Observe procedures, specifications and manuals of instruction

 Interpret electrical drawings and plans

 Perform mensuration and calculations

 Maintain tools and equipment

 Prepare electrical power and hydraulic tools

 Perform roughing- in activities for communications and distribution system

 Install wiring devices for floor and ground faults current interrupting outlets

 Install electrical protecting system for lighting and grounding

 Install electrical lighting systems on auxiliary outlets and lighting fixtures

These competencies help the students develop and achieve the knowledge,

skills and attitude in understanding electrical laws, theories, principles and its

application to devices, materials and circuits.

The knowledge, skills and attitude obtained by the trainees from the training

could help them to have a TESDA National Certificate Level II (NC II) in Electrical

Installation and Maintenance track and even in pursuing Electrical Technology and/or

Electrical Engineering Course after High School.

The development and the study of the Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC

II are continuing process. The electrical industry constantly introduces new and

improved technology on devices and materials, which in turn often lead to changes in

installation and maintenance techniques.

Furthermore, local electrical codes and national electrical codes/ which is the basis of

electrical installation and maintenance undergo periodic revisions to upgrade safety and

quality in electrical installations.

Goals

1. Acquire knowledge, skills and attitude of the components of the course/subject

2. Develop the knowledge, skills and attitude in Electrical Installation and

Maintenance

3. Apply the correct attitude and behavior in the entrepreneurial field of expertise

4. Develop the knowledge, skills and attitude in Industrial Technology Education

FRIST WEEK OF IMMERSION

 Day 01

During the first day of our immersion, work orientation was given to us by our

professor at Sta. Cruz Marbel. After such, we were indorsed to our respective areas of

responsibilities and quarters. Our first day of immersion was full of excitement.

 Day 02-03-04

During this week, our training/immersion focused on the making of 3-way and 4-

way Switch.

 Day 05

We conducted the final testing for 3-way and 4-way Switch (Multi-way).

SECOND WEEK OF IMMERSION

Day 01

My 1st day of immersion we are gathered in our school to have an attendance

before we go to sta. Cruz marbel if where our immersion takes place. And then after the

arrival we work lay outing and performing installation.

Day 02

My 2nd day of immersion we perform on how to install fire alarm.

Day 03

My 3rd day of immersion we perform on how to bending PVC.

Day 04

My 4th day of immersion we perform on how to install CCTV.

Day 05

My 5th day of immersion our professor gives us a free time to rest for those who

trainees already done their task.

THIRD WEEK OF IMMERSION

Day 01

My 1st day of immersion our professor takes us to prepare in the actual

presentation for our NC-II.

Day 02,03,04,05

My 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th day of immersion we performed memorizing the

3ways switch, single switch, CCTV, and Fire alarm installation.

FOURTH WEEK OF IMMERSION

Day 01, 02, 03, 04,

My 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th day of immersion we performed the same task in the past

week. And if who are really want to know another learning about installation.

Day 05

My 5th day of immersion we are preparing because I am belong to the top 20 who

will perform next week for final presentation in electrical installation and maintenance

(NC II)

FIFTH WEEK OF IMMERSION

Day 01

My 1st day of immersion, the day full of excitement because this is the day that

we will perform to the final presentation with the assessor to observe us if who are really

deserving to become a (NC II) PASSERS

WORKSHOP ACTIVITIES

The picture above shows my output about series and switches. This aims to

develop my knowledge, skills and attitude in Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC

II.

I was able to design, install, troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment and

perform entrepreneurial services to others.

Conclusion

With the knowledge, skills and attitude of the trainer/teacher and with the

presence and availability of electrical equipment, instruments and tools as well as the

support of school administration and stakeholders’ for purchasing electrical materials,

we have been able to enhance our knowledge, skills and attitude in Electrical

Installation and Maintenance. With these thoughts, have achieved our goals – to

successfully PASSED the National Certificate Level II in Electrical Installation and

Maintenance.
