Easy Pleated Skirt Craftsy PDF
I have a new, easy pleated skirt pattern to share with you that will streamline your figure and look great.
This A-line shaped skirt is so easy to sew that you'll want to make a few skirts and they will last you for
many years.
Made of linen, cotton, light wool or fabrics with a bit of body, this skirt will give you an effortless classy
and elegant look.
Lately, I have had a few requests and since there are a few that relate to each other I thought a sew
along with alterations was going to cover many of the questions and requests you guys keep sending my
way.
I have divided this tutorial and sew-along into four parts so I can share with you a few details that will
make this an easier learning experience. I really want you to end up with a great finished product!
Part One: Print, cut and sew the skirt and pleats.
Part Two: How to sew a lining with an invisible zipper to a skirt.
Part Three: How to make pleats and hem a pleated skirt.
Part Four: How to fit and alter the pattern to make the skirt bigger or smaller.

To print your PDF pattern
Your pattern pieces come at the end of these instructions. For accurate printing,
please make sure you are using the latest version of Adobe Reader. You can
download the latest version here if you need to.
Select File → Print and the print dialogue box opens. Under Page Sizing and
Handling, select ACTUAL SIZE . Check the preview in the right hand side
illustration. Select the page numbers you want to print. You can print the whole
document, or just the pattern pieces.
On the edge of the top left page is a box you can use to test your printing. This
box should measure 2 inches square. If yours is wildly different you will need to
check your printer options to make sure the pages are not being resized.
Use the grey guides on the overlap of the sheets to match up the pattern pieces,
folding under or cutting off any overlaps, tape together and cut out your pattern
pieces.
Also note that you will need to cut two straps at 4 inches by 22 inches, for which
no pattern piece is supplied – it’s just a rectangle! You can draw the straps on
the reverse of your fabric to cut.
