Individual Assignment - Electricity in Malaysia: Past and Present

INTRODUCTION.
Electricity serves an important role in both the production and consumption of goods and services
within an economy. The availability of electricity has been a major contributor to the technological
and scientific advancements that have improved the standard of living across countries. With
population growth, urbanization, and industrialization of economies, the infrastructure for electricity
has emerged as an important factor in a country's growth prospects. Furthermore, the growth of the
information and communication technologies in advanced economies confirms the importance of
electricity.

In this assignment, students are required to review the history of electricity development in the World
and Malaysia. The objectives of this assignment are:

 To review the history of the World and Malaysia electricity development.


 To study the regulators, infrastructures and generation capacity of current situation in
Malaysia.
 To study the progress of Malaysia’s renewable energy for power generation.

FORMAT:
The report should comprise the following parts in the given order:

4. List of abbreviations and symbols;

5. Introduction;

6. Body of the report;

7. Conclusions;

8. References;

9. Appendices.

The list of abbreviations and symbols, and the appendices do not always make sense and thus can
sometimes be omitted. The other parts should always be present in the report.
