Using the same color yarn and tapestry needle, line up and sew the seam
from the top point to the bottom using the mattress stitch. Leave the bottom
open. (Don’t worry if the top of the head is pointy, it will round out when you
stuff it with fiber fill.)
With the seam in the center back, stitch the bottom seam closed with same
color yarn and tapestry needle, closing the body.
To make the head, use same color yarn and tapestry needle to weave a piece
of yarn under and over the stitches around the body 3 ½” down from the top
3
center. Start the woven line at the center back seam, once all the way around,
pull tight to form head. Tie off. Weave in ends.

the bottom ¼” and tack down with same color yarn using a tapestry needle.

whip stitch. Tie off, weave in ends.

Roll each sleeve lengthwise. Using tapestry needle, use the ladder stitch to
catch the edge and form the rolled sleeve. Note that one of the edges will be
rolled up inside the sleeve, like a fruit roll-up.
Attach the arms to the shawl on knit side using thread and sewing needle.
Place each one 2 ½” from the side and 2 ¼” down from the top as shown
Attach the shawl to the body. Fold the top 2” over to cover top arm seams.
Wrap the shawl around the body. Using the sewing thread and sewing needle,
tack the shawl down under the neck.
Attach the eyes. Using the thread and sewing needle, sew buttons on. 3”
down from the top point of the head. Roughly 1 3/4” apart from the center of
each eye.
Nose: using the body yarn and tapestry needle, find the center of the face,
between the eyes and a little bit down. Sew a couple of stitches and tie a
couple of knots in the same spot to achieve a small round shape. Weave in
ends.
