CHAPTER 1
The Problem
INTRODUCTION
Today’s 21st century one of the problem is the massive growth of population in every continent
around the world. Teenage pregnancy affects not only females but males as well; it causes serious health and
education problems. “Nearly 4 out of 10 girls become pregnant at least once before the age of 20.” () Most teens
get pregnant because they want to know what it feels like to raise a child or because they see others with
children and they find them cute and want them to themselves. Others get pregnant because they don’t know
about the different ways of contraception and ways to stay safe. Many girls struggle with teen pregnancy
because of their low confidence and self-worth. They feel that they are ugly and no guy would show them
attention unless they give them what they want. In our society, today Teenage Pregnancy affects both females
and males in several ways.
Early pregnancy in this generation is just like a wound that can never heal. Teenage Pregnancy
can prevent in so many ways. Popular solutions include discussions of “SAFE SEX PRACTICES”. And, who
give their children up for adoption. Although, teenage pregnancy plays a huge role in our society. That is one of
the biggest problems when becoming a teenage parent. At the time, it seems like the right thing to do. You
figure this will give you more time with your child, and more opportunity to get a job and support a child.
There are many disadvantages to being a teenage mother and being the child of one. Being the parent
at such a young age takes away many opportunities for you. You now can't go and explore the possibilities of
your future. You are now forced to explore the opportunities of the future of your child. They now become
number one in your life. They must be the first thing you think about when you wake up, and the last thing
you think about before you go to sleep. There's no more going out with your friends and you can forget about
the club or team you were or want to be on. Most teenagers, when they find out they are going to become
parents drop out of school.
So, that we made this research to know the reaction of college student in CSPC and we choose as a
respondent of this research is the BSOA 1A. We just want to know there. Understanding about the topic and
what is their opinion about teenage pregnancy.

Conceptual Framework:
INPUT PROCESS
“The reaction of the Students in CSPC in 1. Collection of data through

Teenage Pregnancy.” Questionnaires.
OUTPUT
In this study, the most probably
cause of teenage pregnancy is “FAMILY
PROBLEM”, “CURIOSITY”, “REBELS” and
“TOO MUCH LOVE”.
Statement of the Problem:
This study is aimed to look into the reaction of the college students in CSPC
about teenage pregnancy to the educational development of students and out-of-school
youth. Particularly it aims to answer the following problems.
1. What is the demographic profile in terms of age, age when pregnant, educational
attainment, status?
2. What are the causes of teenage pregnancy among the students and out-of-school
youth?
3. Is there a significant difference on the educational development of teenage pregnancy
when grouped according to age, educational attainment, status, type of school attended
and economic background of the respondents?
4. Which among the causes of teenage pregnancy effects most to students?

5. Is Sex Education being one of the most effective way to prevent the so called
teenage Pregnancy?
6. It is possible for both couples to decide to do the romantic side of love?
7. Is sex being part of sweetness of couples?
8. Was malcontent or rebels was the reason why the couples do that thing?
9. Is romantic love starts from the kiss, touch, and down to the censored part of the
body?
10. Is pregnancy start in the so called “LOVE”.
Assumptions:
The best way to stop the problem is to know the really bad effects of early
pregnancy especially to a student like us and for those who are still studying to know
their limitation and do their responsibility not only for themselves but also for their
family.
Null Hypothesis:
There is no significant difference on the educational development of teenage
pregnancy when grouped according to age, educational attainment, status, type of school
attended, and economic background.
Significance of the study:
In this study, we will be conducted the major causes of teenage pregnancy to the
education development of the students. This study will also benefit the students who still
studying because it will give them some information about the cause and possible effects of
teenage pregnancy to their studies once they got pregnant. In this paper, will guide them to
focus first their attention to their studies rather than giving priority to their romantic affairs
with boyfriends/girlfriends.
Scope and Delimitation:
This study help us to know the causes of early pregnancy the respondents are
the first-year students taking up Bachelor of Science in Office Administration at the Camarines
Sur Polytechnic Colleges.
Definition of terms:
Adoption- the act or process of adopting a child.

Educational Development– is the possible trend, progress on their school performance of
students or out-of-school youth/teenagers who have been pregnant.
Family- a group of people who are related to each other.
Love – A feeling of strong or constant affection for a person.
Sex -the sum of the structural, functional and behavioral characteristics of organisms that are
involved in reproduction marked by the union of gametes and that distinguish males and
females.
Sex Education – means learning the external conditions such as psychological, sociological,
economic and social factors that affect the personality, behavior and development of a boy to
manhood and fatherhood and a girl to motherhood as well as with human reproduction.
Teenage Pregnancy -means conception by a girl between the ages of twelve (12) and nineteen
(19) year old which was not planned for.
Rebels – A person who opposes or fights against a government or a person who does not obey
rules or accept normal standards of behavior.

CHAPTER 2
Research Methodology
This chapter presents the research design, research locale, the respondents, sampling
procedure, data gathering tools, the scoring procedure and the treatment data in the foregoing
study.
Research Locale
This study will be conducted at Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges. This College was
being purposively chosen because of its accessibility to the researcher in gathering data for the
reason that this college is developing and the researcher is concerned of the teenagers who get
pregnant in the locality and are often the topics of the by standers and acquaintances of the
respondent who are affected with the sudden twist of their life situation.
Respondents of the study
The respondents of this study will be the students of BSOA-1A. They were chosen to
provide vital information about the effects of teenage pregnancy to their educational
development and their reaction about teenage pregnancy.
Data Gathering Tools
In this study, we used questionnaire to get some idea about our research and to know
some causes of Teenage Pregnancy.

Research:
According to our research most of the respondents answer that the age 18-20 yrs. Old
are the age where teenager got pregnant and they believe that the most common causes why
they got pregnant is “FAMILY PROBLEM & CURIOSITY” and according to them, there is a
difference on the educational development of teenage pregnancy when group according to
age, educational attainment, status, type of school attended and economic background of the
respondent.

SUMMARY
Findings:
We found out that 61.9% of the respondents at age of 18-20 yrs. Old believe that
teenage pregnancy is much prone and the lowest percent is at the age of 15-17 yrs. Old
because of being immature and not aware of possible causes of teenage pregnancy and, lastly
is the age of over 21 they maybe know the possible causes and they also have a matured mind.
Conclusions:
Based on our findings at the age of 18-20 yrs. Old the number of teenage female get the
most higher percentage and also the possible huge problem of the teenage pregnancy’s is the
“FAMILY PROBLEM, CURIOSITY, TOO MUCH LOVE, and REBELS”.
Recommendation:
Based on our opinion every teenager must know their limitation when it comes to
having sex and they think about what are the possible causes or problem when they do that
thing in an early age.
