I. INTRODUCTION

A broiler is a chicken produced specifically for meat production. Broiler

production includes small-fryer to large roaster type chickens. The success of

contract broiler production is directly related to the success of poultry production.

II. OBJECTIVES

Specifically, this project aims to:

1. To produce 100 heads per production cycle;

2. To utilize the idle poultry production area of RSU-CAFF, and

3. To increase the production of broiler meat in the locality of Odiongan.

“Readiness to Serve the region in Utilizing resources for higher education”

III. MARKETING ASPECT

A. Demand and Supply Analysis

The increasing population of Odiongan will assure that the proposed

project will generate profit. Considering the factor of competition, this will

not affect the production and marketing due to few raisers engaged in this

business.

B. Marketing Strategies

The quality of broiler meat determined the acceptability of a product

to potential customers. Broiler products will be sold to the local market

retailers or contacts buyers depending on agreement of the price on which

will give more returns.

or until it reaches an expected weight of more or less 1.3 to 1.4 kg.

Production will be 100 heads per cropping.

2. Production Process

a. Poultry House

RSU poultry facility will be utilized for the conduct of the

project in the form of rental (Poultry house, Equipment, Waterer and

Federer).

b. Disinfection

Proper disinfection will be done one week before the arrival of

stock to minimize the spread of disease that my cause mortality and

to sure the health and growth of the chicks.

c. Purchasing of stocks, feeds, medicine and other supplies

Weekly purchase of feeds will be made to ensure the

freshness of feeds used. Stocks and medicines will be purchased

from reliable supplier.

d. Brooding/lighting management

Four (4) 100 watts wet bulb will be used to protect the chicks

from cold and drafts. Following proper brooding management is

essential for the success of the product.

e. Cleaning of housing, Equipment and Surroundings

Daily Cleaning of poultry house, equipment’s and its

surroundings s essential for the health of broiler and the caretaker.

This would prevent any disease outbreak in the project.

f. Feeding and giving fresh cool water

This activity will be conducted on the daily routinely basis.

Application of medicine/biological is case basis only. This will help

consumer prevent from drug prior to harvest time. In case of

diseases outbreak, all broilers will be quarantine as early as possible

and seek an advise to the university veterinarian.

g. Record keeping

Daily recording of inflow and outflow transactions will be

observed using record book for future reference. The record shows
all the activities having during the period and it will serve as a guide

to determine the expenses etc.

h. Marketing

Marketing is the last thing to do in broiler production. The

broiler should be harvested after reaching the target weight or

expected date to be harvested to insure that the broiler will not

consume more feeds because this will add to the cost to the project.

V. PROJECT SIZE

The proponent tends to raise broiler for the duration of two cropping this

semester about 100 heads per cropping.

VI. FARM LOCATION

The project will be conducted at the Romblon State University idle and

undeveloped poultry building.

VII. PRODUCTION SCHEDULE

The production will start at November, a total of 100 heads broiler will be

used for the first cropping and another 100 heads for the second.

VIII. FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT

Equipment and facilities must be thoroughly checked to ensure the safety

of the proponent at the same time for the broiler to be raised.
