COMMUTING IS BAD FOR YOU


Millions of rail passengers have health problems because (1) ___. A recent study by the Rail
Passenger Council measured the heart rate and blood pressure of commuters on trains which were
too small. It found that as a result of the poor conditions of their journey to work, (2) ___.

An added problem is that trains are often delayed or (3) ___. The combination of uncomfortable
trains and unreliable services can cause a level of tension which is dangerous. According to some
experts, regular commuters can suffer from high blood pressure, anxiety or (4) ___.

To begin with, on crowded trains passengers get angry because they have to stand. Then the train
