(Phone: 0141-2227481, 2227558, 2227602 FAX, e-mail rslsaip@gmail.com Internship Programmes for Students of Law Colleges under RSLSA Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority conducts Internship programme for the Students of Law colleges and a number of request applications are received from Law students, across the country. To provide maximum benefit to Internship aspirants a period has been fixed for internship in every year. It is from 15" April to 15" July for Summer Internship and from 12 November to 12" February for Winter Internship. ‘This period is divided into batches of three weeks (21 Days). Day to day schedule of Intemship programme is also prepared and uploaded on website rslsajp@gmail.com with a view to give comprehensive idea of the working of Legal Services Institutions and the legal services programme with a specific focus Therefore it is requested to all students who wish to undergo Intemship with Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority to apply for summer and winter internship programme at least before 15 days in advance, to the period specified for the summer and winter internship as mentioned above, m Annexure RAJASTHAN STATE LEGAL SERVICES AUTHORITY RAJASTHAN HIGH COURT CAMPUS, JAIPUR BENCH, JAIPUR. The interns would be required to spend about two weeks with the District Legal Services Authority of their choice, be it their home district or district in which their law college falls or any other district of their choice, . While interning for 15 days with the District Legal Services Authority, the interns would be required to. a. Visit a Central Jail or Sub Jail for one day in the District; b. Visit an Observation Home/ Juvenile Justice Board for one day, Visit Child Welfare Committee and Children’s Home for one day, |. Visit a home for senior citizens for one day, . Visit a mental hospital/ drug rehabilitation centre for one day,” . Visit the District Courts including Magisterial, Sessions and Civil Courts one day, . Attend a legal literacy/ legal awareness programme in the district for ‘one or two days, h. Watch the mediation proceedings at Mediation / ADR centre and Lok Adalat/ Permanent Lok Adalat for one day, i. Visit a legal literacy club in a school/ legal services clinic in a college for one day, Spend the remaining days in the office of the District Legal Services Authority While visiting the jail or observation homes, the interns would be required to interact with the inmates to find out if they are represented by a counsel — whether private or legal services lawyers, find out the difficulties of inmates: look at issue of production before the Court/ JJBs and observe the working of the legal services clinics established and if any, the legal services lawyers and PLVs attached with the same and report to the Secretary, DLSA, if any problem is noticed. meee ® . While visiting the JJBs, CWCs, Courts, the interns would be required to observe the working of the said institutions and also look at the role of the legal services lawyers in these institutions. F, While visiting the Children’s Home, Home for the senior citizens, mental hospital/ rehabilitation centre, the interns would be required to interact with the inmates, try to understand their problems and look at the conditions in which they stay and assess whether they need any kind of legal representation and make suitable report to the Secretary, DLSA. While visiting legal literacy club/ legal services clinics, they would observe their working, provide necessary assistance and participate in the activities. H. While attending the legal awareness/ legal literacy camps, the intems would actively facilitate the conduct of the programme in terms of distribution of pamphlets, legal literacy materials and would also be required to collect feedback from a sample audience. During the period with the DLSAs, the interns would be required to observe and understand the working of the ‘front office’, provision of legal aid to the legal aid beneficiaries, counselling, working of victim compensation scheme, administrative work etc. J. Interns would be required to maintain a daily diary of the work done by them and the same would be signed by the Secretary, DLSA with whom the intern is attached, K. After the period of 15 days with the District Legal Services Authorities, the intems who are doing internship with DLSAs which fall under the jurisdiction of the Hon’ble Rajasthan High Court Jodhpur/ Jaipur as the case may be will be associated with the concerned Rajasthan High Court Legal Services Committee, Jodhpur/ Jaipur for about three days to observe its working, visiting its mediation centre, meeting, Retainer Advocates, Panel Advocates etc. On the conclusion of the third day, the interns would come to the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority office at Jaipur and they would remain in RSLSA office for about three days during which they would make a small presentation of their observations while being associated with the DLSAs and suggestions if any. Also the interns would be required to study NALSA’s Schemes and make small presentations in groups. . The Full Time Secretaries of the DLSAs will submit a report about the working of the interns to RSLSA after the completion of 15 days of internship with their DLSAs. M. At the end of the internship programme, certificates would be distributed to the law interns who successfully complete the programme. N. The interns would be required to make their own boarding and lodging arrangements as well as for local travel both within the district to which they are attached for the internship,
