ABSTRACT
This paper focuses on Wattpad, a social reading platfrom on which people can add
comments in the margins of books. Analysisng these comments enables the comparison
between specific parts of the text and the effects they have on readers. We outline a new
research programme, dicscussing both theoretical and practical issues in the study of
wattpad: from the identification of a methodology holding together reader response
theory,, cognitive literary studies, and compututional text analysis, to the definition of a
describe a dataset built by scraping the wattpad website: priliminary statistics on the most
commented books in the categories "Classics" and "Teen fiction" are presented and
dicussed. To provide an example of the possible uses of the dataset, we introduct a
simplified experiment with the sentinment comments, we evaluate the approach and show
the substanial differences between the intrinsic emotional valence of the text and the
effects it produce.
I. INTRODUCTION
In the 21st century reading literature has become a widely diversified
phenomenon in fact nowadays it includes many different practices that go beyond
traditional processes distributors (Grahom and Gandini 2017). It is becoming increasingly
urgent to consider and analyze how reading practices are changing, in order to outline a
more reliable scenario of what kind of readers exists to approach literature. Showing the
potetial benefits analysis of the comments in the margins of some books on the social

nowadays, how much they read and what channels they use to approuach literature.
Unfortunately, publishers are not fully aware of the magnitude of the teading practices
that are out of their control, for instance, omitting to take into account data about self-
published books in their reports about general book sales (Hoffelder 2017). Likewise,
scholar are investigating only a limited range of in this paper, we want to point out a new
way of analyzing online social reading- one of the most of this research program. We are
focusing on an analysis of the comments in the margins of some books on the social
reading platform Wattpad.
Wattpad is an amazing website where novice authors can write and share their
own stories to tohers to read. This website is great for when you want to take patience to
find the perfect to read, wattpad was co-founded by Lau and Yuen in novemer 2006 in a
garage "With avision to change the way we share stories" The idea behind the company
was that readers could download an app to read and chat about fiction shared by
professional and aspiring writers form around the world we choose this topic because
some of the Shs girl student in MNHS (main) are engage reading wattpad we want to
know why they choose wattpad app instead of other app, and what are the reasons why
they choose wattpad instead buying some expensive books. We choose this topic because
we want to konow the reason why some of the other girl in MNHS (main) choose
wattpad instead of other apps like facebook, instagram twiiter, snapchat etc.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM.
This case study aims to know the reason why some of the teenager in SHS
Muntinluupa National High School (Main) engage in reading of wattpad.
Specifically, this study sought answers of the following question:
1. Who created wattpad?
2. Where the wattpad came from?
3. When does wattpad started?
Scope and delimitation.
This study focuses on the girl students who engage reading wattpad in Muntinlupa
National Highschool Senior High School (MAIN). Why they choose wattpad instead of
other apps. The selection of respondent are only limite since they're are many wattpaders
(Called Reading Wattpad)
Interview will be the form for collection of data, which was prepared by the reasearchers
The study is on-going.
Sinificance of the study.
To the girl student, this study could be help them to know the reason and to voice
out thier perspective why they reading wattpad.
To the parents, this study hoping to understand the reason of thier daughter why
they choose reading wattpad.
To the teacher, this study are hoping to understand why most of the girl student
engage in reading wattpad to give them knowledge about the topic, about reading wattpad
and this is important for the teacher to know it.
