Range Of Projectile:
The maximum horizontal distanced covered by projectile is called
range of projectile.
Range of projectile is affected by following factors
Projection angle (θ).
Initial velocity (𝑣𝑜 ).
Mathematically:

Horizontal and vertical distances :
For a ball which is projected with initial velocity (𝑣𝑜 ):
Photogate:
Photogate are commonly used in physics laboratories to determine the
velocity of a passing object.
Photogates are used in order to find the velocity of object with extreme
accuracy
The time of flight of the ball will be twice the time it takes the ball to
reach the peak value of its trajectory.
As we now that, at peak value the vertically velocity is zero so:
𝑣𝑦 = 0 = 𝑣𝑜 𝑠𝑖𝑛𝜃 − 𝑔𝑡𝑝𝑒𝑎𝑘
Solving time gives the total time of flight as :
2(𝑣𝑜 𝑠𝑖𝑛𝜃)
𝑇 = 2𝑡𝑝𝑒𝑎𝑘 = 𝑔
