    HVAC Design Engineer

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The HVAC Design Engineer will design HVAC systems, select proper HVAC equipment and accessories, and determine
    appropriate routing and location of HVAC systems. Assist the Lead Engineer/ Project Manager with specifics in design
    and bid jobs.

    Education

    • Degree in Mechanical engineering

    Experience

     Minimum of 5 years experience in the HVAC design industry (EPC/FEED/Proposal Projects for Oil &
    Gas/Onshore/Offshore/Power Industry).
     AutoCAD experience.
     Experience in softwares such as Carrier HAP, E20 etc is preferable.
     Experience with 3D Modeling programs like SP3D, PDMS etc is preferable.
     Knowledge of codes and standards including (but not limited to) ASHRAE Standards, Carrier Handbook, SMACNA,
    NFPA, API etc.
     Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

    Responsibilities

    Successful applicant must be able to demonstrate the following job skills and responsibilities:

     Perform conceptual, FEED, Studies, and detailed analyses and design of HVAC System as per design basis, project
    specifications, design codes and standards.
     Detailed load estimating utilizing computer software simulation (Carrier HAP, E20 etc) or excel sheets. Includes
    knowledge of building construction materials, knowledge of meeting outdoor air requirements for indoor air quality,
    and general understanding of internal heat loads (ie lights, computers, equipment, etc.).
     Preparation of D&IDs (Ducting and Instrumentation diagrams) as design deliverables.
     Application and selection of various types of HVAC equipment including air handling units, fans, coils, condensing units
    and heaters etc.
     Design and layout of industrial duct systems including supply, return, exhaust, ventilation, and dust collection systems.
     3D Modelling of Equipments and duct systems.
     Application and selection of air terminal devices such as variable air volume boxes, grilles, diffusers, and louvers.
     Design & Estimate the quantities (BOM/BOQ) and prepare specifications of various components like AHU, Cooling
    Tower, Chiller, Pump, CHW Pipes, Valves, indoor and outdoor units, drain pipes, grilles, diffusers, dampers, cables etc.
     Prepare the cost estimate from the BOM / BOQ.
     General knowledge of HVAC system controls and interfacing with Fire Fighting systems desirable.
     Supplier documentation review.
     Development of construction document packages based on the project requirements and application. This shall
    include project coordination with other disciplines (structural, architectural, electrical), directing drafting personnel,
    and checking project construction documents.
     Attending and coordinating client meetings in order to clearly understand job/owner requirements and expectations.
    Includes, project review meetings, construction meetings, and project closeout meetings.
