1. Siloxane Enamel
1.1. Preparation
1.1.1. Prepare the required quantity of the components in the following ratio:
KO-815 varnish 27 weight parts
KO-85 ОГКО-85ФМ varnish 17 weight parts
ПАП-2 aluminum powder 6 weight parts
1.1.2. Mix the varnishes in the required quantities, then add the aluminum powder and thoroughly stir the
mixture again. Thoroughly stir the prepared mixture once more and filter it through strainer No. 015 or
through two or three layers of gauze.
1.2. Application
1.2.1. Using a brush or a piece of cloth, thoroughly degrease the surface with gasoline or acetone and then
allow it to dry until the solvent has completely evaporated.
1.2.2. Thoroughly stir the siloxane enamel.
1.2.3. Apply a thin uniform layer of siloxane enamel to the surface, making sure that no unpainted places have
been left.
To preclude the possibility of the enamel entering the unit when applying it to the surface, leave a 2 to
5 mm wide area around the chambers and channels unpainted.
1.2.4. Air dry for a minimum period of 5 min.
1.2.5. The engine starting and testing may be conducted not earlier than in two hours after application of
siloxane enamel.
1.3. Storage
Keep the prepared siloxane enamel in glass, plastic, or metallic vessels provided with closely fitting stoppers
or threaded covers.
The shelf life of the prepared siloxane enamel is five days.
2. Anti-stick Agent
2.1. Preparation
WARNING: THE ROOM AND WORKSTATION INTENDED FOR PREPARING THE ANTISTICK AGENT SHOULD
BE PROVIDED WITH THE GENERAL AND LOCAL BALANCED VENTILATION SYSTEMS. ON
COMPLETION OF THE WORK, WASH THE HANDS WITH HOT WATER AND SOAP.

2.1.1. Prepare the required quantity of the components in the following ratio:
- Boron nitride 50 weight parts
- Graphite 14 weight parts
- Glycerine 100 to 120 weight parts
2.1.2. Thoroughly stir and grind the prepared quantity of boron nitride and graphite till obtaining the
homogenous monochromatic compound.
2.1.3. Gradually add glycerin in small portions, stirring and grinding the compound till obtaining the homogenous
mass.
NOTE: The prepared compound should be paste-like, homogenous, with neutral tint.
2.2. Application
2.2.1. Wash the surfaces of the threaded joint with nefras solvent, using a brush, let them dry in the open air
for 15 to 20 minutes.
2.2.2. Using a brush, apply a thin layer of anti-stick agent to the bolt thread surface and assemble the threaded
joint; remove excessive anti-stick agent with a clean cloth.
2.3. Storage
The shelf life of the prepared anti-stick agent in the closed container (with indication of the date of
preparation) is 12 months.
3. Sealant ВГО-1
3.1. Application
3.1.1. Thoroughly degrease the surface in gasoline, toluene, or acetone with the aid of a brush or a cloth piece
and then air dry until the solvent evaporates completely.
3.1.2. Using a brush, apply a 0.5-mm thick coat of the sealant to the surface, making sure that no places have
been left unpainted.
3.1.3. Air dry for a time period not more than 5 to 10 min and assemble the unit. Remove the excess sealant
with a cloth piece moistened in gasoline.
3.1.4. The engine starting and testing may be carried out not earlier than in one hour after application of the
ВГО-1 sealant.

APPENDIX 5
1. Description
Container (1) (Ref. Fig. I) consists of cylindrical casing (2) which is closed with front (10) and rear (4) covers
on each side.
Frames (7) with two skids (9) are welded to a cylindrical portion of casing (2).
At the top of frames (7) are 4 shackles (11) for cargo-handling operations.
On the side of the casing are log book storage box (3) and box (8) with set of spares, tools and equipment
for container servicing. The following information is provided on the same side of the container:
— Engine loading direction
— Centers of gravity for loaded and empty container
— Number of engine placed inside container
— Container identification
When the engine is supplied into service, the interior volume of the container is filled with dry air (nitrogen).
Inside of the container are sets of spares, tools and equipment, which are packed into cases (Ref Fig. 2).
2. Container specifications
2.3. Container weight with engine and set of tools and equipment 1020 kg
2.4. The container remains in serviceable condition throughout its service life in temperate, cold and boreal
maritime climate, in heated and unheated premises, and outdoor under a shed within 12 years.

3. Shipment
The container allows shipping engine by any means of transport at ambient temperatures ranging from 50 °C
below zero to 60 °C above zero.
When shipping the engine by air in a no pressurized compartment, an altitude must not exceed 6000 meters,
in a pressurized compartment no altitude limitation applies.
4. Safety precautions
4.1. When performing cargo-handling operations, use only properly functioning equipment, tools and fixtures
specified in the engine Maintenance Manual.
4.2. When loading and unloading the container, observe safety precautions and prevent any strikes and load
swinging.
During shipment by any means of transport, the container with the engine inside must be securely attached
to the platform of a carrier vehicle in order to exclude any possible movement.
4.3. Do not:
— Turn over the containers and stack them on top of one another during transportation;
— Perform handling operations when hoist fitting is found damaged;
— Use handling equipment with expired period to next examination and hoisting mechanisms with load-
lifting capacity less than weight of the cargo being lifted;
— Connect and disconnect pipes when supplying an (nitrogen) under pressure;
— Unscrew the nuts retaining the container covers without prior release of air (nitrogen) from the container.
