ALGC de Karakoro Goudja 2015-2018 $89,646 Sector: Agro-processing (Balanites Oil /Syrup and Gum Arabic)

Summary: The project funds will be used to rehabilitate the existing warehouse and multipurpose center,
provide processing equipment for balanites production and the collection of gum Arabic, and provide a
revolving fund and technical assistance. These activities will enable Cooperative members to
dramatically increase the volume of balanites processed and the profit earned by group members.

(UAGPOA) Summary: The project funds will be used to rehabilitate the Union’s headquarters and refrigeration units
4481-MRT to ensure preservation and safe storage of its produce. The Union will also purchase a truck to ensure
reliable transportation of product from the members to headquarters as well as to regional markets. This
investment will enable Union members to dramatically increase the volume of vegetables sold.

Summary: The project funds will be used to rehabilitate 13 hectares of land and update and expand the
exisiting irrigation system. Trainings provided with this investment will focus on cooperative
organizational and management capacity and farming techniques. This investment will enable
Cooperative members to dramatically increase the volume of vegetables sold and the profit earned by its
members.
Cooperative Agricole Falokone 2017-2021 $160,895 Sector: Agriculture (Vegetables and Rice)
4678-MRT Town/City: Tekane, Trarza Region
Summary: The project funds will be used to rehabilitate eight hectares of land for rice and vegetable
production, build a storage facility, acquire rice processing equipment in order to increase the quantity
and quality of the rice produced. This investment will enable the Cooperative to increase the volume of
vegetables and rice produced and sold which, in turn, will increase its members’ income.
