The document outlines the procedure for slipping and cutting the drilling line on a drilling rig. This involves removing the worn section of line on the drum and replacing it with a new section of line.

The purpose of slipping and cutting the drilling line is to move the wear point of the drilling line.

The main steps involved are making up the top drive, hanging off the blocks, marking and cutting the line, removing the cut section, bringing the new line under the drum, clamping and spooling the new line.

6. Start #1 KTA and put it into compound.
7. Reverse off the drilling line until you come to the mark were the line is to be cut.
8. Cut the drilling line with the Hydra Shear line cutter.
9. Continue to remove the remainder of the drilling line on the drum until 1 rap remains.
10. Shut down and lock out #1 KTA.
11. Slide enough line back to remove the line clamp in the drum.
12. Remove cut off line from the work area.
13. Bring the tail of the fast line back under the drum and through the hole in the side of the drum
making sure there are no twists in the line.
14. Put drum clamp onto the line with approximately 100mm of tail and tighten the clamp.
